When M.J. Holliday and the crew of her cable TV show, Ghoul Getters, venture to the haunted ruins of Dunlow Castle in Ireland, drawn by the legend of hidden treasure, they hope the road will rise up to meet them, that the wind will always be at their backs-and that the resident phantom won't push them off a cliff. If they treasure their lives, M.J. and her ghost busters need to get the drop on the menacing phantom.

“Reminiscent of Buffy the Vampire Slayer's bunch, Laurie's enthusiastic, punchy ghost busters make this paranormal series one teens can also enjoy.” (Publisher’s Weekly)
This series still reminds me of a Scooby-doo episode. I enjoyed it - entertained all the way through. Though Gilly gets on my nerves - not really sure why they bring him on their trips when he tends to cause more problems then he solves.
Take a look it's in a book...Reading Rainbow!
Another great addition to the Ghost Hunter series. A miss Steven but will try to get over it. Heath is great and I will endevour to love him and MJ together. Still a great read!
Super funny and quirky series! I just can't get enough of these fast paced adventures!
Awesome narration from Eileen Stevens!!
spooky castle, treasure
I would say Gilly, his off the cuff remarks to MJ most of the time have me cracking up.
gives each of the characters life
yes, I found my self wanting to listen to this book during any free time that I had and finished it quickly only to dowload the next one in the series and listen to that one too.
I would recommend that you check out the previous titles in this series. Not because they aren't stand alone books all by themselves but the other books are also really good and you get a little bit more back ground on the characters.
I'm a relationship coach (QueenBeesCoaching), survived raising my children and have a loving relationship. Life is good!
This was another good story and the ending was a pleasant surprise. Usually I figure them out ahead of time.
Uh oh. I just realized I left the comment about the messy kitchen on the wrong review. It's supposed to be on this one. Okay, well here is my pet peeve. The kitchen seemed WAY too messy in the description after their chase through the kitchen at the Inn. Food dripping from the ceiling? Really? It just didn't seem realistic to me. Of course, maybe I'm neat in my chase scenes through a kitchen.
The accidents that kept happening with people around M.J. also seemed extreme, but I've never been on a ghost hunt or had a demon chase after me, so I could be wrong.
Other than those pet peeve comments, I enjoyed the story overall. The ghosts at the castle were a good part of the story at the end.
Gilly remained a bit of a fingernail on the chalkboard sensation at times. Like when he raced ahead on the causeway and fell.... uh, okay. But his dropping something important and then being forgiven so readily? Or easily?
The stories are a good read and are definitely something I've enjoyed throughout the whole series. They're probably good for teenagers too, but not for younger children.
Love this series! A little mystery, a little scary a LOT of fun! M.J.'s friend, Gilly, is my favorite! Definitely a must read series! Eileen Stevens is a very good narrator for this series!
gils has such a whinny funny side but man he can grate my last nerve. he seems to forget that mj is why he has a job. please man up or at least be gay enough to have manners. i have never met a gay man that is so whinny rude and self absorbed as gil. he is funny and does make the stories but he has gone to far and takes away from what i think is right. i love the book and the story just a few tweeks on gil would be better. ready for the next one.
Have always loved books and I find that as I have gotten older I find this way more enjoyable then listening to the radio.
we see heath and MJ admit they like each other
her MJ was great
when she was running for the church and there were armys of ghost flanking her to help with the phatom
I don't know if it was the jerky storyline or the fast-pace narration, but I just could not get into this book. The characters, Gilly especially, are annoying, and my mind just kept drifting with every chapter. The narrator doesn't stop to take a breath, and I found myself getting lost in all the silly banter. I really wanted the book to transport me to Ireland, but the author didn't really take advantage of the setting.
I have purchased each book in the Ghost Hunter series and I am really enjoying them.
This one was all I expected it to be and was not disappointed.
I always enjoy a new book from Victoria Laurie. Story line moves on a timely basis and the book does keep you interested. Eileen does a good job of reading this novel. Looking forward to next book.
