Publisher's Summary

Murder and mystery on the Jersey Shore from the national best-selling author of Inspector Specter....

Never meet your heroes - especially when they're dead....

Guesthouse owner, single mother, and reluctant ghost whisperer Alison Kerby is about to sit down to movie night with her family and friends when she's struck speechless. Floating before her is the ghost of her musical idol, 1960s English rock star Vance McTiernan. He's in desperate need of help from Alison and her resident ghostly gumshoe, Paul Harrison.

Reports claim that four months ago, Vance's daughter died from a drug overdose. Vance, however, thinks she was murdered. While Alison agrees to help, Paul is suspicious of Vance's motives. But after the body of the alleged killer is found in the movie room, Alison and Paul must act quickly before someone else finds a stairway to heaven....

    "Love this series!"

I've listened to all these books and they are just fun! I wish I could find more just like it. And the narrator, Amanda Ronconi, is fantastic. I actually found this series by searching for books she narrated. Can't wait for the next one! You'll love it if you try it.

I love this series. The characters are fun and this one has a scene with musicians that is unreal. To have really been a part of that scene would have been awesome.

    "Well okay then...."

I'm not entirely sure if it was the book or me or both, but I wasn't a huge fan of this installment of Haunted Guesthouse.
It starts out normal, there is a ghost he needs help, but early on, this book seemed to take a turn I didn't enjoy and that turn was Alison.
Alison came across less likable, less smart, less everything in this book, her shaky relationship with Paul, felt flat and not believable, it was as if this story, this case, should have happened earlier in the series before their little 'family,' was put in place, before Alison had helped solve 7 other cases.
I'm not saying, I hated it, and won't read future installments, I most likely will, and that boils down to two things, aside from Alison this go around, I do truly like the characters and the simply little stories as a whole. And Amanda Ronconi. She of course is once again stellar in her performance.

    "Highly entertaining!"
Would you consider the audio edition of Ghost in the Wind to be better than the print version?

Never read the print version, but I love the audio version.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Always. Amanda Ronconi is a great narrator.

    Which scene was your favorite?

When all the ghost musicians gave their concert in the library!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Absolutely.

    Any additional comments?

I want more books to listen to!

    "Great Story Atrocious English Accent"

Great story but was tempted to switch to reading at some points. I'm a huge Amanda Ronconi fan and on the whole she did a great job but her Vance character was TERRIBLE! I think she was "attempting" a "beatles style" liverpudilan accent but it roamed all over the place from Scotland to Newcastle to Yorkshire to Ireland and via other places that probably don't even exist... at times she was pretty close but the lack of consistency was really distracting. A dialect coach would probably be helpful if future characters require specific accents...

"If you can get past the terrible English accent..."

    ...it's a good story :)

it's a light hearted quirky series and this book is just as good as the others.

    The characters are likeable.

    "Good story, dire accents"
Would you listen to Ghost in the Wind again? Why?

I probably wouldn't listen to this one again. I'd read it, because the story is fine, but the awful attempts at English accents by the narrator made me cringe. They not only sound nothing like the accents stated in the text but several of them rove the various regions of the British Isles without settling on any of them... dreadful.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Alison - main protagonist all the way.

How could the performance have been better?

Not attempting the English accents would have been preferable to mangling them. It's a shame because, on the whole Amanda Ronconi is a very good narrator.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    Nope

Enjoyed the whole story. The biggest flaw was the terrible English accent, which was one of the worst I have heard.

"The series of books are good easy listening"

I enjoy this series of books, the stories are easy to listen to, amusing and not too taxing. This particular book has the usual story of ghost finding/investigation, but oh dear, the narrator is normally fine using her own accent. This time she is trying to do an accent and goodness knows where it originates. At the start it sounds like very bad Scottish or Irish, then it shifts into possible Welsh. I think it should be Liverpool, but the whole story would have been more enjoyable if just left as the narrator speaking in her own accent. Americans are as bad at English accents and the English are at American ones. Someone should have listened before it was put out. That said the story is a good one.
