Publisher's summary

There are those who walk among us who are no longer alive, but not yet crossed over. They seek retribution…vengeance…to warn. Among the living, few intuit their presence.

Katie MacDonald is one who can.

As she’s drawn deeper and deeper into a gruesome years-old murder, whispered warnings from a spectral friend become more and more insistent. But Katie must uncover the truth: could David Beckett really be guilty of his fiancée’s murder?

Worse – the body count’s rising on the Island of Bones, and the dead seem to be reenacting some macabre tableaux from history. The danger is increasing by the moment – especially as Katie finds herself irresistibly drawn to David, who may be responsible for more than just one killing.

Great book. 1 suggestion

The story line was great but there were too many erotic scenes. Not necessary. Too

Best one of the series

Would you consider the audio edition of Ghost Shadow to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print version

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I loved the plot that only one person could see the ghost. Good romance plot too.

Have you listened to any of Angela Dawe’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No

Any additional comments?

I got the series but the other books disappointed. In my opinion, read this one and leave it at that.

Thoroughly Enjoyed Ghost Shadow, Book 1

The story is well written and Angela Dawe did a great job narrating. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the history. I enjoyed all of the characters and hope there is a ghost of a chance that Bartholomew tags along with Katie into the next book!

Lighthearted but Suspenseful

I have loved every Heather Graham book I have read.

This one is just a plain fun mystery with a touch of fantasy and romance - entertaining and not too heavy.

Angela Dawe is a favourite narrator.

I for one was not disappointed.

I Told You, I Was Sick

Good 1st in series sale from my favorite narrator. I had already listen to book 3, Liams adventure, in 2012, and will now re listen to it so this whole series makes more sense. They are stand alone adventures with our young heroes all in this first story. I do use the new 1.25x speed to match the author intentions.
Do not miss dialogue with Bartholomew ,as it gets better and better in each of the three stories. Eg his reference to being a Privateer and not a Pirate who can make coffee in ch.3 !
The publisher summery is spot on. This is a light romantic mystery of ghosts and revenge. Good simple and humorous dialogue in this adventure. The author, spells out an authentic key lime pie recipe in the last chapter, YUM.
Were my comments of of help?

Cheesy Dialogue

I almost didn’t make it through this book. The dialogue was old fashioned (fellow, parlor, rapped on the door, etc.) and the plot predictable. I correctly guessed the killer about halfway through the book. Not worth the time.

I'm Here For Bartholomew

Not a bad story, overall, though the mystery felt contrived. I liked Katie and David and I'm hoping the rest of the books in this series are better.

What kept me engaged in this book and what will bring me back to this series is Bartholomew, the ghost. I found him to be the most engaging character in the story and the poor man has been dead a few hundred years! He was witty and charming and sometimes hilarious while being pompous and arrogant. I really liked how he has Katie's back, even though from Katie's point of view, it's an annoyance. I'm not quite ready for him to go into the light, but I feel bad for what he endured while he was alive and am rooting for him to get his reward and eternal peace.

Entertaining...

A little out there, but entertaining. You have to like ghost stories. Didn't like the villain character because it was hard to imagine him getting through life without anyone being wise to him...
