Publisher's summary

In this exciting debut, author Keri Arthur explodes onto the supernatural scene with a sexy, sensuous tale of intrigue and suspense set in a world where legends walk and the shady paths of the underworld are far more sinister than anyone envisioned.

A rare hybrid of vampire and werewolf, Riley Jenson and her twin brother, Rhoan, work for Melbourne’s Directorate of Other Races, an organization created to police the supernatural races - and protect humans from their depredations. While Rhoan is an exalted guardian, a.k.a. assassin, Riley is merely an office worker - until her brother goes missing on one of his missions. The timing couldn’t be worse.

More werewolf than vampire, Riley is vulnerable to the moon heat, the weeklong period before the full moon, when her need to mate becomes all-consuming....

Luckily Riley has two willing partners to satisfy her every need. But she will have to control her urges if she’s going to find her brother. Easier said than done as the city pulses with frenzied desire, and Riley is confronted with a very powerful - and delectably naked - vamp who raises her temperature like never before.

In matters carnal, Riley has met her match. But in matters criminal, she must follow her instincts not only to find her brother but to stop an unholy harvest. For someone is doing some shifty cloning in an attempt to produce the ultimate warrior - by tapping into the genome of nonhumans like Rhoan. Now Riley knows just how dangerous the world is for her kind - and just how much it needs her.

Bite into another Riley Jenson novel.

Good plot, excessive sexual references

The story line was interesting and engaging but I honestly kept being distracted by the constant sexual references. I am not sexually prudish nor puritainical but the random, "I am a wolf and the Moon makes me horny" references didn't really add much to the plot nor to character development, they just seemed to be thrown in to make the story "spicy." Totally unnecessary and actually distracting from what was a good storyline. It was almost as if the pages of a werewolf/vampire story were randomly mixed in with a cheesy romance novel. Only the use of the words turgid flesh were missing.
So again Good plot, just ignore the constant sexual references, I would NOT recommend this to pre-teens or any one who is easily offended by sex.

can't wait for the next one....

This is a wonderful book, if you like vampires, werewolf’s, action, genetics, and erotic sex you won’t be disappointed. Definitely my favourite in my last year romance novels. Keri does a wonderful job with the characters, I can’t resist them. The theme is pretty actual discussing cloning and genetics. The sex scenes and extremely sensual and fluid with the story line.
I absolutely can’t wait for the next book, just hope it comes out in audio or else I will buy the book from the shelves.

I liked this book...

Be warned; A lot of sex. I wish she would come out with a sequel.

Fun From Start To Finish

If you like vampire and werewolf romance, you will love this. This book is an original ... taking place in Australia, with guardians, strange creatures and lots (and LOTS) of moon lust!
Reilly is cooler than Anita Blake any day.

I listened to this book every free moment and even did my longest run (EVER) while listening to this great story. I'm off to the bookstore tonight to get more of this author -- too bad audible doesn't carry more of her titles.

I am bored by the idea that sex sex sex makes a good fantasy story.
Characters a bit flat , but always horny

Ehum Not horrible, but not interested.

Not really sure what to say about this book. I read all the Anita Blake series even the terrible ones (the last half of the series) so I the multiple sex partners doesn't bother me. I don't think the sex was over-played like the last dozen books in the Anita Blake series, but it doesn't really kick ass either. Maybe the next books in the series get better, but I will most likely never know.

It is very similar to the last "Seven" series I started reading, I got through the first two books before I gave up. Love (or Lust) Novel with lots of drama and some action.

I still gave it 4 stars because I don't think it was a bad book if you are into this type of novel.
