Left me waiting now for Number 9!

Unlike some of the other books there are a few events that occur in this book instead of one main one. I didn't think there was much repetition as some other readers have said, about the same as the other books but no more. Sookie's blood tie with Eric has her confused about her true feelings; her boyfriend Quinn has disappeared; Sam supports her in a major way in this book and a long lost relative finds her. I love the suspense in this book as I have in all the others but mostly really want to know....who will Sookie end up with? That question more than others intrigues me. If you are new to this series make sure you start with Book #1 and read sequentially. They can be read on their own but you will miss too much history to really have an appreciation for Sookie's character and dilemmas.

Best Yet

Kind of a cult following, Sookie Stackhouse is now starring in her own HBO series. The books, however, must be better than the series! This one is definitely one of the better in the series. You can see the author really working on developing characters and their whole fantasy world. Worth the read!

Good story

I found the story to be pretty good. The constant repeating of Sookie's telepathic "disability" gets annoying after a while, though.

Sookie is the best

I loved this book. All the Sookie Stackhouse books are great to read, but the immersive experience listening to them is enthralling.

I love it all.

Would you listen to From Dead to Worse again? Why?

I would possibly listen again years down the line. It's all still so fresh to me, but it's a great story.

What other book might you compare From Dead to Worse to and why?

I really can't think of anything to compare it to. This is a new genre of books for me. The closest i'd say would be "Wicked".

Which character – as performed by Johanna Parker – was your favorite?

Sookie Stackhouse, the main character. Johanna is just phenomenal in her narration. She really makes these words and story her own. And she sounds southern! Being from Louisiana, I give her two thumbs up.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

At this point, i'm listening to all of the novels back-to-back, so where one starts and begins is a bit of a blur to me.

Sookie torn between different worlds! Getting caught up in the the werewolves this book! 🐺

Getting caught up has never been more fun in this series!
Single Sookie finding her way though all these worlds. Getting caught up in the wares this book. Also some vamp politics to deal with. She’s always finds a way to leverage something which is always super smart. Super Twists. That then always gives her an I owe you one towards her. In proof in keeping her safe in all these different worlds that she’s a part of. I can’t believe I’m on book 9 now! They are incredibly well written and always painted very well. You feel as you are with Sookie every book! Love the Series Charlaine! You are my favorite author!
