Best narrator ever!

While minimally interested in the storyline, it was truly the narrator that hooked me in the 1st book. After that, I was invested! Narrator Johanna Parker is a perfect fit for this series, and is one of the best narrators I've ever heard! She voices a whole cast of characters so convincingly that when she starts to speak in a character's voice, they are immediately recognizable to the listener! She embodies a wide variety of voices of different genders, ages, and even species! And within each character she is able to vocally express a wide array of emotions, energy levels, and even a discernable difference between internal dialog and external speech! I truly cannot comprehend how she keeps it all straight, but WOW, it is truly impressive!

Love the whole series

I was hooked up by the first book which I bought through a promotion, then it cost me additional 7 credits to buy the rest in a month. I have to upgrade my membership so that I could have enough credits for this series. Good strategy, Audible marketing team!

This series is much better than the popular Twilight Sega. I couldn't finish that series since the main character in Twilight has no personality, but simply a self-centered, plain & boring girl with everybody else getting busy around her for no reason - how stupid. On the contract, Sukie in this series is a well developed character with amazing personality. She's not just beautiful, but determined, strong minded, and takes care of her friends along the way without thinking of any return. The stories are all very engaging, totally worth the money I cost for membership upgrading.

I would highly recommend this serious.

I love Sookie Stackhouse!

I love the Sookie Stackhouse series and the audio books are great too. Johanna Parker does a great job of bringing Charlaine Harris's spunky heroine (and her crazy world of vampires, witches and were-shifters) to life.

A Superior Entry in a Great Series

"From Dead to Worse" eally advance the overall story.

The narrator's voices for the different character really gives life to them and is a pleasure to hear. The secondary characters are well thought out and the primary character continues to be both interesting and a boring normal person.
A lot of long plotlines have been put to rest, leaving the author room to make new ones.

It feels like the second act has ended in the Southern Vampire mystery series and I look forward to what's coming .

Terrific Series

Thanks to HBO's series True Blood, I was introduced to Charlaine Harris and her Sookie Stackhouse series. I've listened to all in the series and am a fan. All of them are fun-filled reads. Don't expect the book and the series to be exactly the same - it's interesting to compare the differences in character and plot development. The humor is quite dry - my favorite type. Johanna Parker does an excellent job as the narrator.
