Publisher's summary

“I didn’t do it!” is something cops hear all the time. But when the plea comes from a close friend who’s fallen on hard times, it’s tougher to ignore, especially for young Officer Danny Boyle. It’s the start of another action-packed summer for the wisecracking Boyle and straight-arrow cop (now chief of detectives) John Ceepak down the Jersey Shore as they do their best to help Danny’s friend, a young nurse who claims she has been falsely accused of aggravated assault by a prestigious Sea Haven doctor.

Ceepak’s unshakable code of honor is tested when he trusts that the nurse is telling the truth. It’s stretched to the limit when one of the nurse’s home health care patients turns up dead. Now Ceepak and Danny must answer the hard and horrible question: "Did we just help a friend get away with murder?" Get ready for another fun and fast-paced listen from Anthony and Agatha award-winner Chris Grabenstein.

Totally enjoyable!

This is one of the best narrators I've ever listened to. His voice(s) match the characters perfectly!
I have enjoyed each of the books in this series. Only regret is that it's over.

Good story

Took me quite awhile to get used to the narrator but when I did I could enjoy the story. Really got involved with the characters in this one. A good tale and well worth a listen.

I want more!

This is another excellent entry in the series. Danny character continues to grow. I am really enjoying how he is maturing. I also appreciate that the author is taking seriously the burdens some must bear that others might live burden free.

Don't miss this book or this Series

This time we see the Jersey shore recovering from hurricane Sandy. I really love the characters and the humor in this series. The Narrator really captured the voices and personalities, particularly of a female villain in the story. The story is really good, and the old adage, "no good deed goes unpunished" is amply demonstrated. I know that I miss some of the cultural references, since I am not a Bruce Springsteen fan, but that doesn't bother me. This series is always fun and lighthearted, even when it deals with the ugly crimes and people. I hope John Ceepak comes back for many more chapters.

Not a good way to end a series

What else can I say, this was a typically good CEepak book until the end when it became mediocre at best.

Huge Fan of John Ceepak - another winner!

I really enjoy the John Ceepak novels -the balance between the upstanding Ceepak and his 20-something side kick Danny Boyle is what makes these books so much fun. Boyle is the just the right narrator- flawed, immature and struck with admiration for Ceepak. Listening to the relationship grow between the two is better than any underlying mystery. The narrator is perfect bringing the Jersey seashore to life. I hope this isn’t the last in the series - if it is I’ll have to start listening again from Book 1!

Uncomfortably "comfortable" listen

This story has well written plot twists and the narrator delivers a believable performance. I think the combo of a cop who was familiar with the citizens before cop-dom and the narrator's voice, cadence, etc, gave a sense of "settling in with a good book"...hence the comfortable. "Uncomfortable" because, well, lies, murder, deception...the whole reason I bought the book:)

Another entertaining Grabenstein!

If you could sum up Free Fall in three words, what would they be?

entertaining page turner

What did you like best about this story?

Again Chris Grabenstein wrote a very sunderful Story with his cool characters and a nice Story! Especially nice since I know the Free Fall myself - have been in last year and now look at it a bit different :-)

What does Jeff Woodman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He again managed to bring the characters ALife in such a cool manner that one can see them right in front of ones eyes! Reading the book would be good too but he makes it like a movie in your mind!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Sometimes I just had to love (therefore nothing to read in class or a quiet Environment :-)

Any additional comments?

I hope the next one will come out soon and be as good as the first eight ones!!!

Amazing narrator

The narrator was amazing. He used a significantly different voice for every character and made it easy to follow the story. His voices really captured the persona of each character.
The story was good and kept me wanting to listen.
