    "Somewhat predictable"

This is the only book I have listened to from Jennifer Hillier. I didn't listen to the first and found unless I wanted more of the back story to some of the characters I didn't need to. It stood on it's own. The book was entertaining and overall it kept my interest but it was somewhat predictable. I had figured out half way thru who was helping the killer achieve what she was trying to achieve. I found it somewhat irritating that the woman behind bars, 'Abby', was involved in several different relationships, with different sexes, who would virtually risk their jobs because of wanting to please her. So that had me at the 'oh geez' once or twice. The narrator is OK. She did her best to perform the book just found the male characters grating on my nerves but essentially I find most female narrators giving me that same reaction. Was good. I don't have any desire to listen to the first book tho. That might say something. So perhaps if you are looking to get into a series, you should start there.

    "A worthy follow-up to Creep."

Finished this in one sitting. Skilful focus shift in character development of some of the more minor characters introduced in 1st book. Very talented author and I would say the same for the narrator witj only one caveat - her voice when she portrays main character under stress sounds unnatural, almost infantile and grating. that said, she does the best job of cross-gender voice acting (does male and female voicesequally well) of ANY narrator I have ever heard.

"It was over the top - and not in a good way."

The narrator has a good voice and was easy to listen to until doing the part of a man with a throat injury - I could barely stand when she talked with that voice. The story line was kind of okay until the sequence of events got out of control - so unrealistic, it lost me. I would not recommend.

"Might not be able to finish this!"
How could the performance have been better?

I just bought this and like the story line.

The narrator doing Jerry is soooooo irritating! A woman portraying a man with a throat/voice injury! I am trying to keep listening, I paid for it, I want to hear the story - hopefully his part gets smaller...

    "Really??"

I was so into this book an I really really liked it, up until the very end!

I'm hoping that Mrs Hillier has a #3 in store for us!! But since it's a 2012 book doesn't look likely, though one can only hope...I just didn't like not knowing how it all ended up for everyone.. I need closure!!

"Very interesting listen, worth the credit"

Story picked up from the first book but it can stand alone. The writer had you guessing. Bring on book three. Talmadge Ragan brought the story to life; she did an excellent job.
