Publisher's summary

Bravery. Honor. Sacrifice. These are more than mere words to trained Marine sniper Nathan McBride. He’s never backed away from danger, and he’s not about to start now, even if it means confronting the cold-blooded interrogator who tortured him to the brink of death more than a decade ago.

When a mutilated body is discovered in a remote Utah lake, it ignites a chain of events that forces Nathan to face a dark chapter from a past he’s worked hard to forget. Could his Nicaraguan enemy be active again? On American soil? The evidence is clear, but the stakes are higher than Nathan can know. In a showdown that will test Nathan’s understanding of justice and mercy, he’ll have to make a life or death decision that has the potential to expose and destroy people at the highest levels of government.

Critic reviews

"An absolutely bone-chilling thriller. Equal parts Stephen Hunter and Thomas Harris. Imagine Bob Lee Swagger going after Hannibal Lecter and you will have only scratched the surface of this intensely exciting novel. Forced To Kill will haunt you long after you read its last brilliantly plotted page." (Brad Thor)

Suspenseful and Entertaining

What did you love best about Forced to Kill?

It kept me engaged. I couldn't put it down the last 2+ hours. It is a good story. This author has the ability to deliver it in a way that you can follow, understand the characters and truly enjoy.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Forced to Kill?

Nathan's determination and results.

What does Dick Hill bring to the story that you wouldn???t experience if you just read the book?

Credibility. He has been at his profession a long time with a lot of well known authors. His voice inflection and abilty to differentiate the character voices are great. He is my preference to deliver audio books and in my opinion sets the standard for delivery.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did but didn't have the time. From the opening pages I was engaged and couldn't stop listening.

Reacher fans beware! You've been warned...

This book is like the first two and keeps your attention. That being said remeber you've been warned....

If you're a Reacher fan, then be careful reading this series. Why? Because, I found that I like this character, Nathan McBride, better! What?! Yup, you heard it here first. I won't go into the story at all. Hate spoilers or anything that might influence a future listener. What I will go into without any spoilers is WHY I like this character better. Main reason--he's flawed! He's been in the machine and been spit out. Intact but with issues. This makes him believable, and you're immediately on his side. He's also grittier than Reacher. You'll have to figure that out on your own. Any reacher fan will enjoy this series and be left wanting more! I know I was.

ALSO... do I have to say anything about Dick Hill? Nope, go forth... download and enjoy!!

Good Book

Nathan McBride reminds me of Jack Reacher. I wasn’t aware of this series of books. I enjoyed book 1, so I ordered book 2, which is this book, now I will order book 3.

Enthralling And Emotional

I wasn't sure what to expect out of the latest bad guy from the hellish depths of Nathan's past. Peterson did the emotional conflicts an incredible justice. Nathan's internal battle was gripping and believable, I really felt compassion for how difficult his situation was, and felt his soul being ripped apart.

I can only hope the rest of the series continues to impress like the first two books.

Excellent!

Second of the series and just as captivating. Andrew Peterson is excellent in the way he presents his storyline. Often the reader will kill the efforts of the writers, Dick Hill lets them shine!

Great Read

I am a fussy reader and I am enjoying this series. The books are not predictable and this one was particularly enjoyable ...... not going to say why, as I will spoil the story for others.
Well done!
