Publisher's summary

Bravery. Honor. Sacrifice. These are more than mere words to trained Marine sniper Nathan McBride. He’s never backed away from danger, and he’s not about to start now, even if it means confronting the cold-blooded interrogator who tortured him to the brink of death more than a decade ago.

When a mutilated body is discovered in a remote Utah lake, it ignites a chain of events that forces Nathan to face a dark chapter from a past he’s worked hard to forget. Could his Nicaraguan enemy be active again? On American soil? The evidence is clear, but the stakes are higher than Nathan can know. In a showdown that will test Nathan’s understanding of justice and mercy, he’ll have to make a life or death decision that has the potential to expose and destroy people at the highest levels of government.

Critic reviews

"An absolutely bone-chilling thriller. Equal parts Stephen Hunter and Thomas Harris. Imagine Bob Lee Swagger going after Hannibal Lecter and you will have only scratched the surface of this intensely exciting novel. Forced To Kill will haunt you long after you read its last brilliantly plotted page." (Brad Thor)

Absolutely Great!!!

I'm going to keep this short and simple. Way to go Mr. Peterson! This duo (Nate and Harv) are unbeatable! The story is well rounded. Characters are believable. I cannot wait for your next book! Jack Baur, Mitch Rapp, Nate and Harv. If we had these four we wouldnt have any such thing as terrorists!

Didn't want the trip to end

FORCED TO KILL made for an especially fascinating listen during the week after Osama Bin Laden was killed. Nathan McBride is a compelling hero who will make you want to stand up and cheer. I especially enjoyed learning about Nicaragua during this latest adventure from Andrew Peterson. This is a tale with action and adventure.

Andrew Peterson is my kind of author

Would you listen to Forced to Kill again? Why?

Yes. The story is fast-moving and grasped my full-time attention. Above all, it is believable. not far-feteched. ..

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I was entertained from the first moment. Peterson portrays Nathan McBride as my kind of patriot.

What about Dick Hill’s performance did you like?

Dick Hill seems to live the story he is narrating. He is the best!

good quick book.

Fills in the story nicely. A little less action than the first book but a good sequel.

Dick Hill is sensational

Obvious story but great to listen to because of the narrator. Very light and not too many layers but okay.

Good second part to series

This is a good 2nd part to the series, it is a bit predictable yet remains entertaining. I will be getting the 3rd part in the series.

Jack Reacher you are not

The book was good until the end... I can understand the demons the character had but the whole life is stronger than evil was a little too Disney for me. Things really seemed to fall perfectly in place for the good guys as well. Not terrible but I am not sure I'll read another!

For me, not memorable...

Any additional comments?

This is the second book in the series I have listened to. I enjoyed the First To Kill much better. Sorry Mr. Hill, I'm not a fan of your women's voices. Holly sounds a bit wimpy to me...
