Worth a read or listen

A decent suspense novel, but the ending was somewhat lacking in impact, and the epilogue seemed like it was thrown in last-minute. Also, it almost seems like, about half way through writing the story, the author decided to change the story from a supernatural suspense into a simple suspense\mystery. While still a good novel, i was somewhat let down when all the build-up toward a supernatural bend was forsaken for a logical, albeit ridiculously far-fetched, answer. Worth a read, but probably not a novel i'd read twice.

Super DARK, but....

Super DARK, but you have to know how it ends, so you can't put it down! How terrifying to know that things like those in this story are actually happening every day in this world! A terrifying read! Very well written, and this narrator is outstanding.

Very Intriguing

The storyline kept me guessing, anticipated something only to have another angle develop. Kept me wondering what the heck they saw right up to the end!!!

Twists & Turns

What an enjoyable story. Full of twists & turns. The mystery is a mystery in itself. Not all the pieces are revealed until the very end. This author was new to me, but I'll be reading more by him.

Keeps its secrets until the end

Good story - unpredictable and satisfying. I did not see the final, surprising twist coming.

Excellent, riveting and an exciting nail bitter

I could tell from the start of this book that I was going to like it. However, what I didn't know was how frustrated I would become with Daniel and his stupidity and chicken hearted behavior. Nevertheless the book kept me anchored to the floor while standing in line at the grocery store, clinging to my chair while waiting for my name to be called at the doctors office and unable to cook while holding my iPad and unable to put it down so that I could cook, I do recommend this book, it was very good.

Strong start, weak finish

I was really interested in this book for the first half. Almost exactly halfway through it fell apart. The build was good- there’s this huge horrible thing that happened and you want to know what it was! What could be so bad??

Then once they reveal it, it’s just… a bit anticlimactic. After that things really started drag on and on. I almost quit around 3/4 of the way through. 3 stars because the first half kept my interest, I just wish it had delivered. I wouldn’t recommend reading it, to be honest.

Twisty Good Tale of a Vacation Gone Bad

There are lots of twists and turns in this story and the suspense will keep you listening. I think any misgivings you have about certain characters is eventually explained. I won't elaborate because it will spoil the story. James Langton does a great job with the narration. I would also recommend The Magpies by Mark Edwards.
