Publisher's summary

Danger, excitement and love - this is how the glamorous Phryne Fisher is determined to live her life in her second enticing adventure. Walking the wings of a Tiger Moth plane in full flight ought to be enough excitement for most people, but not Phryne Fisher, amateur detective, woman of mystery, as delectable as the finest chocolate and as sharp as razor blades.

In this, the second Phryne Fisher mystery, the 1920s' most talented and glamorous detective flies even higher, handling a murder, a kidnapping and the usual array of beautiful young men with style and consummate ease - and all before it's time to adjourn to the Queenscliff Hotel for breakfast. Whether she's flying planes, clearing a friend of homicide charges or saving a child from kidnapping, she handles everything with the same dash and elan with which she drives her red Hispano-Suiza.

Solve another case with Phryne Fisher.

I really enjoyed this book. I was sad when it was over. I'm excited to listen to the rest of the book.

Another Great Book

The lesson here is to be nice to children and don't be condesending to others. You will know that Phryne hit you - and why.

Delightful reading

This is the second Mrs. Fisher book I have read and I find it to be well researched, and charming. I was looking for something to replace my Father Brown habit and Miss Fishers attics was a perfect fit. The murders themselves aren't anywhere as complicated as Father Brown, Agatha Christie, or Sherlock, but definitely make up for it historical accuracy and excellent taste in fashion. Listen to the end when Kerry Greenwood is interviewed.

Excellent entertainment

I am very pleased with the Miss Fisher books. They are good light reading. My only complaint is that Miss Fisher goes to bed with just anyone. I would rather there be some feelings involved with her sex.

Another lovely Phryne adventure

I am so easily immersed into this book. The pictures painted so clearly without rambling. A story that is enjoyable with consistent characters whom you can picture yourself sitting down for tea with. Brilliant.

Phryne is Fabulous

Great story and characters but not for kids. Love the authenticity - Greenwood is masterly.
