Publisher's summary

Recipe for disaster: Celebrity chef Stanley Chipotle comes to Trenton to participate in a barbecue cook-off and loses his head—literally.

Throw in some spice: Bail bonds office worker Lula is witness to the crime, and the only one she'll talk to is Trenton cop, Joe Morelli.

Pump up the heat: Chipotle's sponsor is offering a million-dollar reward to anyone who can provide information leading to the capture of the killers.

Stir the pot: Lula recruits bounty hunter Stephanie Plum to help her find the killers and collect the moolah.

Add a secret ingredient: Stephanie's Grandma Mazur. Enough said.

Bring to a boil: Can Stephanie hunt down two killers, a traitor, five skips, keep her grandmother out of the sauce, solve Ranger's problems and not jump his bones?

Warning: Janet Evanovich's Finger Lickin' Fifteen is habanero hot. So good you'll want seconds.

Critic reviews

“Lorelei King delivers this light fiction with gusto, missing none of the humor, whether broad or subtle...King's comic timing suits the story as does the laugh that's almost audible in her performance. Who else could make us giggle at a headless body in a morgue?” —AudioFile

“Veteran Evanovich narrator Lorelei King seems perfectly at home when in command of bounty hunter Stephanie Plum...Plum's larger than life office assistant Lula lands in the center of the drama, and King delivers a deliciously over the top performance of her antics.” —Publishers Weekly

“Lorelei King's narration and portrayals of the bounty jumpers are as spicy as ever!” —Chapel Hill Herald

Plum-bicious!

Another installment in Stephanie Plum's life. There is always humor to brighten your day when reading these books. The struggle between lusting for Ranger asnd loving Morelli continues. I was disappointed with Stephanie figuring something out that Ranger didn't...that just seemed a weird plotline. But the dialogue, ridiculous-ness of the antics always make me laugh out loud. Lots of Lula in this story and that brings LARGE applause on the giggle meter. Where is Stephanie heading...I don't know, not sure I care because along the way she takes us for a short ride that may contain a bomb, car explosions, gunshot, fireworks or always a tour of the funeral home with or without grandma. It's entertainment!

Narrator is superb, changes voices and helps with the visualization.

Lula saves this one

Janet's books are pretty predictable, not that you can solve the mystery easily, but the interaction between Steph and Ranger, for example, is always the same. And way too much of it. But Lula is always unpredictable and she was laugh out loud in this one. This is the type of book that defines "light reading," and I picked it specifically for a road trip with my wife. It was perfect entertainment.

You know what to expect and you get it.

Stephanie Plum is always fun. We've made it through 15 books, and she never learns. I'm getting to where I want more time with Lula. She and Grandma make a perfect pair! Janet Evanovich's books aren't literature, but don't pretend to be. The whole group of characters is "I Love Lucy" all over again. Take a break and enjoy!

This was a great book. It had me laughing all the way through. Lulu and grandma should have their own books.
