Samantha Reid, Deputy Director of The White House Office of Homeland Security, deals with international challenges and political intrigue at the highest levels in the audio version of this thriller by best-selling author Karna Small Bodman. Read by famed narrator Basil Sands, the story unfolds from the explosion of a natural gas pipeline in America’s heartland. Sensing impending disaster, Samantha tries to convince reluctant officials to take action, but they're focused on several other national security threats. When more explosions threaten not only America’s energy supplies, but many lives in the process, Samantha teams up with Tripp Adams, the Vice President of GeoGlobal Oil & Gas, owner of the pipeline, to investigate the mystery of continuing sabotage. They then must race to stop a team of foreign agents before this shadowy group can carry out their final deadly scheme.
The author served as Senior Director of The White House National Security Council and draws on her experience to draw the listener into real-life White House settings and dramas. Yes. What happens behind the scenes at the White House played out around the world.

Fascinating global theater
Fascinating global theater within reach of your headphones.
I relied on the review rating shown when I ordered. This is definitely not a 5 star production.
Infantile plot and story line. Writing is 3rd grade. Much too much redundant wording.
Totally stupid plot elements. Like when first kidnapper/hostage encounter is made, it is set up so the rescuers could have easily sniped the kidnappers and not go through all the other steps.
Never again. His voice "imitations" of females, tough guys etc are so bad they seem like they are a spoof. They are a distraction to the story which is bad enuough to start.
Cover picture was nice.
Bodman and Sands are a good combo. Both are terrible.
Perhaps a woman with a strong voice and an ability to portray conversations in a more life-like manor.
I only listened to the first 17 chapters and frankly found all of the characters boring due to the superficial dialogue. I wouldn't know who to suggest for deletion.
I doubt I could write much better fiction, but then again, I'm not a novelist. My love of authors such as Dean Koontz, who can paint pictures with words, tends to spoil me for such trite prose. I worked for 25+ years in government, dealing with politics at local, state, and federal levels, and I do not believe the people talked like those protrayed herein. It's very difficult to get interested in the plot when you trivialize the issues with two people "throbbing" for each other. Please!!!!!
Everything. The dialogue was sophmoric and characters extremely boring. The plot was very predictable. Very boring.
I wish the bomb had taken care of that.
Do not read this book.
Great action thriller. Good story and compelling dialogue with lots of twists & turns. Good read
No, Over time
"Thoroughly enjoyed listening"
It was great, if a little far fetched. Once the characters had been established I really did want to get to the end as soon as possible.
