In New York Times best-selling author Victoria Laurie’s newest Psychic Eye Mystery, Abby Cooper is trusting her intuition and heading to Sin City to bet on a friend’s innocence.... When police show Abby surveillance video of her best friend and business partner, Candice Fusco, shooting a man in cold blood, she can’t believe her eyes. And when the cops tell her they think the victim has ties to the Mob - and perhaps Candice does, too - she can’t believe her ears. Surely there is a logical explanation. But Candice is nowhere to be found.
Abby decides the only way to find out the truth is to go to Vegas herself - which may be the biggest gamble of her life. Once in town she begins to uncover a rigged game of dirty double-dealing where the stakes are no less than life and death. And if she’s not careful, Abby can forget about ever leaving Las Vegas...alive.

Another great read from Victoria Laurie! Every single book in the series is FANTASTIC, she never disappoints! The narrator is excellent making it a very enjoyable listen! These books are great to read or listen to over and over. The characters are like old friends!
This is one of my favorite series. This book actually is a little different than the previous ones, but very good all the same. Feels different. Good book, good series, worth the listen.
This is a good book. Candace is in a jam and Abbey is her only hope. The plot was a bit far fetched and there were many twists and turns. However, the book was pleasant enough and enjoyable.
I enjoyed the narrator, and found the story's clever twists and turns surprising. I kept thinking that the story was so simple and Abbie too for not being able to solve it. But one by one, she fooled me when I felt Abbie was being obtuse.
Candace is my favorite character, even though we never see her until the end of the story. Bryce and Dutch are both warm and lovable.
Elizabeth Michaels makes a great Abbie.
Who is driving that yellow Porsche?
I had no idea where Victoria was taking our favorite characters this time around. Additionally, less curse words altogether made for a more enjoyable listening/reading experience in my opinion. Thank you for a great read, Victoria! I do believe this is one of the best books in the series.
It starts with Candice (aka Cassidy) being accused of cold-blooded murder. We do not see Candice for much of this book which would normally put me off. Not this time around. The storyline was well constructed and kept me interested and wondering "who dunnit?".
I felt so sorry for Brice as he wondered whether or not the love of his life was a murderer. You could feel his pain. I personally felt Abby's fear that even though she trusted Candice, her BFF, she didn't know if the person she thought she knew was real or not. Had Candice pulled the wool over everyone's eyes and is really a wolf dressed in sheep's clothing?
Most of all, I always feel sorry for Dutch, because he cannot trust Abby to tell him the truth half the time - LOL! Abby is such a bad liar that Dutch always knows when she is fibbing and always worried because she seems to get herself in so much trouble.
I don't want to add spoilers, so I'll stop here with my description of the book.
If you like the other books in this series, you will definitely like this book.
These books are fantastic. they have a little bit of everything. I little romance, a lot of mystery and a bit of fantasy. Each book gets better and better which is what I look for in a series. I love the humor in the books and can't wait for the next one to come out!
I love books the weirder the better.
I have love all the books in this series. I just feel this latest one just didn't quite stand up to the others. Not to say I didn't enjoy it cos I did. It was a little predictable & Abbey didn't use her special powers enough. Hope the next one will make up for it. I will still listen to this series all the same.
being dyslexic, I never read allot but I loved books...doesn't mix right? NOPE...wrong...Audible allows me to "read" at a pace that works for me and they have a great selection of books to keep me interested. I'm a fiction , sci-fi, and adventure books with strong female characters reader. I have been on a Vampire kick lately so female protags have been on my list.
I love the character and her relationship with her hubby and friends...And I like that a character can be written as married and still be sophisticated and have a "real life" without appearing "flaky."
The narrator didn't seem to use as much "inflection" as I've been used to in the other books in the series. I found the flow to be less, maybe she's a bit tired of the stories?
no, but I think that's because of the narration and the story being slow.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Victoria Laurie's other books in the series and I still think she's a great writer....I'd just like to see an expansion of the series into a different venue....what about kids? How would kids/family affect someone who is psychic and her work as a consultant?
I didn't like that Brick gave up on Candace so easily, and then they went back to "Ozzy and Harriet land" again together...it didn't give the characters a feel for complexity which would have made them more REAL....This book just felt both in performance and in storyline "forced" and "less involved" which made me feel less involved/excited.
Its still an ok book....not "bad" per se....but just less than I'm used to getting from the previous books.
