Publisher's summary

In New York Times best-selling author Victoria Laurie’s newest Psychic Eye Mystery, Abby Cooper is trusting her intuition and heading to Sin City to bet on a friend’s innocence.... When police show Abby surveillance video of her best friend and business partner, Candice Fusco, shooting a man in cold blood, she can’t believe her eyes. And when the cops tell her they think the victim has ties to the Mob - and perhaps Candice does, too - she can’t believe her ears. Surely there is a logical explanation. But Candice is nowhere to be found.

Abby decides the only way to find out the truth is to go to Vegas herself - which may be the biggest gamble of her life. Once in town she begins to uncover a rigged game of dirty double-dealing where the stakes are no less than life and death. And if she’s not careful, Abby can forget about ever leaving Las Vegas...alive.

Loved it!

Another great read from Victoria Laurie! Every single book in the series is FANTASTIC, she never disappoints! The narrator is excellent making it a very enjoyable listen! These books are great to read or listen to over and over. The characters are like old friends!

Swearing Doesn't Count...

I enjoyed the story, I really did, but if I had to hear "swearing doesn't count if..." one more time - I was ready to stop listening! As always, Elizabeth Michaels does a good job of narration. Please Victoria, drop the "swearing doesn't count if..." references - or at least keep them to a bare minimum?

Still going strong

Same great characters, new situations, good story. Even though there have been quite a few books in this series it's still a lot of fun. Highly recommend.

Pretty good

This is a good book. Candace is in a jam and Abbey is her only hope. The plot was a bit far fetched and there were many twists and turns. However, the book was pleasant enough and enjoyable.

One of the best books in the series!

I had no idea where Victoria was taking our favorite characters this time around. Additionally, less curse words altogether made for a more enjoyable listening/reading experience in my opinion. Thank you for a great read, Victoria! I do believe this is one of the best books in the series.

It starts with Candice (aka Cassidy) being accused of cold-blooded murder. We do not see Candice for much of this book which would normally put me off. Not this time around. The storyline was well constructed and kept me interested and wondering "who dunnit?".

I felt so sorry for Brice as he wondered whether or not the love of his life was a murderer. You could feel his pain. I personally felt Abby's fear that even though she trusted Candice, her BFF, she didn't know if the person she thought she knew was real or not. Had Candice pulled the wool over everyone's eyes and is really a wolf dressed in sheep's clothing?

Most of all, I always feel sorry for Dutch, because he cannot trust Abby to tell him the truth half the time - LOL! Abby is such a bad liar that Dutch always knows when she is fibbing and always worried because she seems to get herself in so much trouble.

I don't want to add spoilers, so I'll stop here with my description of the book.

If you like the other books in this series, you will definitely like this book.

EXCELLENT!!!

These books are fantastic. they have a little bit of everything. I little romance, a lot of mystery and a bit of fantasy. Each book gets better and better which is what I look for in a series. I love the humor in the books and can't wait for the next one to come out!

Abbie solves the case again

What did you love best about Fatal Fortune?

I enjoyed the narrator, and found the story's clever twists and turns surprising. I kept thinking that the story was so simple and Abbie too for not being able to solve it. But one by one, she fooled me when I felt Abbie was being obtuse.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Candace is my favorite character, even though we never see her until the end of the story. Bryce and Dutch are both warm and lovable.

Which character – as performed by Elizabeth Michaels – was your favorite?

Elizabeth Michaels makes a great Abbie.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Who is driving that yellow Porsche?

Love the story! But...

I always love the books but in this once the performance of Bryce Harrison sounded D emasculated. He sounded like a little old woman rather than a young man.

Fun series

This series is fun ride of twists and turns. The reader starts as inexperienced and gains skill and credibility over the series. This new author does a good job making you believe the ups and downs of being a psychic. The writing is mostly good but gets hung up on a few things like, "swearing is ok if...." This is a quote I hope to never hear again! The main character Abby is immature in ways such as her constant lying and deceiving her husband, the sweetheart Dutch. All in all, the books are a great ride through various cities, dangerous people and loving friendships.
