Say something about yourself!
I enjoyed listening to this book. George Guidall is one of my favorite readers, so that was part of it. The story is good, though. Lots of twists, interesting characters. I particularly liked the young girl, Dani - feisty, brave and smart. By the end, I had figured out the mystery, but I didn't right away. It was a good listen.
I call this type of writing "repeat and remind" - The author repeats the feelings that the characters have over and over until the reader is supposedly lulled into believing that the character actually feels that way - Unfortunately for the author, actions speak louder than words and there is NO WAY a father supposedly so over wraught with distress over his kidnapped daughter would take precious time out to buy steaks and champagne to romance a woman he has just met - this is just one example of the sillyness that takes place in this novel - confusing what might have been an interesting plot line.
I implore you to listen to the other reviewers who tell of repetition. DON'T WASTE YOUR PRECIOUS TIME with this overly drawn out, painfully repetitious, rambling tale. It is a good story (that was what made me give it a chance) but it wasn't worth it. Too bad JoAnn Ross or another skilled author didn't write this plot or perhaps an editor could have done his/her job and cut it down to an appropriate 7 hours!!
I really enjoyed the story line, it kept me guessing all the way to the end! I loved George Gudall as the narrator he was awesome as usual.
I am sure I will listen to Fatal Burn again. It has such great twists and turns!
I am not sure there is any one book it can be compared to, at least not that I have read or listened to.
When Shannon forces her brothers to come clean about the truth of what they and their father had been doing.
No laughing or crying but it certainly had me feeling like I was on the edge of my seat. The suspense was great.
I like the twist that some of the characters who are normally good guys in books like these turned out to be shady. While this was sad for Shannon it was an unexpected change which was refreshing.
Exciting from beginning to end. Happy end Shannon and her animals and daughter Danni and who summit fire starter and brothers United
