McKinty is at his continent-hopping, well-paced, evocative best in this thriller, moving between his native Ireland and distant cities within a skin-of-his-teeth timeframe.

Must listen if only for the narration

Adrian McKinty again proves he can tell a story. In Falling Glass, he takes a minor character from the Dead Trilogy, Killian, and give him a staring role. Killian is a great character on his own but gives the author a chance to fill in the back story on the Irish Travelers (also Pavee but not gypsy). The Travelers are easily seen in Ireland but the average tourist won't hear much about them. McKinty's writing style in Falling Glass is closer to the first of the Dead Trilogy, Dead I well Might Be, and at times he was a little too lyrical for my tastes but there is enough action to make up for the author's verbal wanderings. And he has a tendency to give the reader a little more gore than might be necessary. But the real bonus comes from connecting a good story with excellent narration. Gerald Doyle could read the Prague phone book and keep most listeners sitting in their driveways for hours. Whatever the few shortcomings, McKinty and Doyle can't be passed up.

Outstanding suspense thriller!

Released in 2011, Falling Glass is in my opinion the best Adrian McKinty novel not part of the Sean Duffy series or the Michael Forsythe series (Forsythe makes an appearance in Falling Glass but is not a major character). It is a rock solid 5 star mystery/thriller. As usual with McKinty's books the publisher's summary gets the setup to the novel perfectly. The Audible Editor Review is also quite good. What can one say about narrator Gerard Doyle? There are none better.

As Good as James Lee Burke

I have a difficult time with the level of violence and dark, destructive life styles. However,
McKinty's skill is so superlative, his writing so gorgeous, the narration so brilliant, I persevere. He reminds me of James Lee Burke in his skill level. And I don't make it through all of his books either.
I have read four books. I am anxious for the next Sean Duffy novel. Michael in New York is more difficult for me. If you can handle the violence these are fabulous stories!!!!! For me MIchael Connelly, James Patterson, and the longish list of formulaic production writers pale. I have not enjoyed stories this much since Stieg Larrson. ------P. S. I am a sucker for the Irish accent.

Nice Ending

I liked the ending. The overall story was compelling if a bit predictable. The characters were well rounded and the descriptions of the settings were nice. My only issue was with the beginning, it was disjointed and easy to get distracted out of the story.

Another homerun for McKinty

As always the dialog in a McKinty novel is beyond excellent, this is no exception and the narrator read this book perfectly. I admire where McKinty is able to take his storyline, he takes you into a place and time and you really feel like a witness more than a reader. Excellent action, narration. One of the best purchases you will make.

Yes! Compelling characters, good pace, interesting component of Tinkers in this story.
The main character, Killian, is a fascinating person whose intelligence, courage, sense of honor and wit make him one of the best characters to date from Adrian McKinty.

Yes. The story has unexpected twists which keep you interested.

This is one of the best audio books that I have listened to. The performance is award winning. The writing is amazing! I am hooked on this duo.

Another charming Irishman

I recently discovered his author and the narrator- I love them both and will listen to anything that involves either one-
like the Dead trilogy- lots of graphic violence which I was able to skip over when it got to be too much

Mediocre thriller with a unrealistic love story

Great start, but the rest did not live up to it. Most interesting was the glimpse into the 'tinker' life. The narrator was good.

Beautifully written!

Wow! This book will certainly keep you guessing! The twist is expected, among other aspects. I loved the bit of Irish "Tinker" history the writer provides the reader with. I definitely recommend this book!
