Publisher's summary

Critically acclaimed novelist Steven James delivers another pulse-pounding, twist-filled chapter in his best-selling series, The Bowers Files.

FBI Special Agent Patrick Bowers grapples with a baffling series of murders in Detroit - and discovers a terror plot whose roots stretch back centuries. Consulting on a case, Patrick encounters the work of a killer who displays a stunning degree of ruthlessness. Patrick is shocked to find that the slayings are linked not just to his own history with a known terrorist but to a former lover as well - and that her secret past might hold the key to stopping the countless deaths.

Unnerving and laced with breathtaking suspense, Every Deadly Kiss is a surprising and complex thriller that will have listeners obsessed until the very end.

Great Read

Stephan James does it again. Great story with multiple plot lines and great character development. This is a prequel to most of the books in the series but if this is your 1st one it won't harm the enjoyment of the others.

My only disappointment to readers of the series is this book is set about 10 years ago, but the technology used is current technology.

Early years Patrick Bowers- EXCELLENT!

Any additional comments?

This is a second prequel following Every Crooked Path. The book is excellent. It takes place prior to the Chessmatch book series.
In this book Bowers is still in the early stages of his relationship with Christie, who will later become his wife. He travels to another state at the request of an ex girlfriend whose personal life could be at the crux of the serial murder case she is investigating (albeit with out her knowledge). In the meanwhile there are terrorists plotting a biological attack, and Bowers old nemesis is somehow involved with both situations. What follows is one situation after another that keeps you on the edge.
What I like about this book is that with so much going on and so much suspense it has a believable ring to it and a storyline that is very easy to follow.
Richard Ferrone does an excellent job narrating.
This book is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I actually recommend the entire series but other then these last two books (which could be read first) I would suggest that this series be read in order.

One of his weakest books

This book did not have the character or plot development that one would expect in this series....

Every Deadly Kiss

As with all of this author’s novels there is always quite a bit to follow. The main character Patrick Bower is great. It’s been a nice addition to the series to include the early years. Plenty of action and suspense. I always look forward to reading these books. Outstanding narration.

Meh.

Not what I expected. This was supposed to be next in the series. It was inserted and is penultimate. Kinda ticked me off.
