Portrait of a mystery

Dylan Scott vowed never to return to the dreary town of Dawson's Clough. But one visit from a beautiful ex-lover and he's back in Lancashire, investigating a possible murder. The police think Prue Murphy died during a burglary gone wrong, but her sister isn't so sure - and neither is Dylan. After all, the killer overlooked the only valuable thing in Prue's flat.

So who could have wanted the quirky young woman dead, and why? Dylan's search for answers takes him to France, where he discovers Prue's family didn't know her as well as they thought they did. And the more he digs, the more secrets he unearths - secrets someone would kill to keep buried.…

Riveting story and excellent narrator!

Would you listen to Dying Art again? Why?

I'm normally not a fan of this genre but I was blown away by this story. The characters were so diverse, rich and vivid and it was both suspenseful and heartbreaking. The narrator was brilliant - she really sensitively brought the characters to life in her lovely rich voice and she was very believable with her british accent. I'm from London so I'm a pretty tough judge of accents. What a fantastic listening experience!

Poor choice of narrator

What did you like best about Dying Art? What did you like least?

The story was good, however I am sure there are sufficient genuine English narrators around that could have done this book. This American's attempt at an English accent was woeful and the pronunciation of several places and colloquialisms not even close.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Appalling English accent
