His investigation leads to an old murder, the mob, a crooked senator, a jealous mother, and someone who's determined to shut down his search for good.

In novels that crackle with wit and suspense, Edgar Award-winner Harlan Coben has created one of the most fascinating and complex heroes in suspense fiction, a hot-headed, tender-hearted sports agent who grows more and more engaging and unpredictable with each page-turning appearance.

What the Critics Say

"The prose is lean, the story moves briskly, and the dialogue crackles...great fun in the best 'hard-boiled' tradition." (Houston Chronicle)

    "Funny, Intriguing, and Engaging"

My favorite Coben book yet. Myron and Wynn are at their funniest, the tennis scene makes a nice backdrop, and the mystery keeps you guessing. The author does an excellent job as usual. I really enjoyed listening to this book.

    "i liked it"

When I first started this book, I did not think I would like it. The tennis thing was weird, since I have no interest in it. The story took off though. I laughed out loud in several places and I really liked the dry voice of the narrator, he added to the story. I am going to continue listening to this series as opposed to reading the books.

    "just too much"

I like most of Coben's other books, and have tried to get into this series, but this is the 3rd i've tried and I'm giving up. I just don't care for Myron being so darn "good" (at everything, to everyone), and Win being so "dark", and every female being a model, who can fight, and shoot... Everyone in the story is the best, at several things - nobody's average. It just feels like none of the characters are believable, let alone all of them being involved with each other. I know it's very popular - just not for me.

"Entertaining though a little over done in places"

I loved Deal Breaker so I went with book two in the series and was pleased but I start to sense a formula to Coben's writing. Also a little too much sarcasm. Maybe the novelty of the first book made it a five star. Still I like the way Coben creates a story and I will get more of his books. Just hoping the future books have more variety in plots and story structure.

Don't know what I want to be when I grow up. Trip's cool though. Use Audible to make gym-training sane... And rip my imagination.

"Whoa! Kew-el Kickoff. Myron Bolitar! Yea!"

Terrific ensemble cast. Perfect read. quick plot. Start with this... then get the next. I will... Check the next review... Hope it's as strong as this one. BTW. Bolitar is a sports agent. I am not a strong sports. fan. I mean I'm a man in America so I like some games, but not an addict. Thought I'd be left out. Wasn't. The sports world is to this novel as a hot arrangement is to a great melody. It makes the whole thing work. If this was an introductory novel... Let me repeat... Whoa!
