Publisher's summary

Known by his alias, "Oliver Stone," John Carr is the most wanted man in America. With two pulls of the trigger, the men who destroyed Stone's life and kept him in the shadows were finally silenced.

But his freedom comes at a steep price: The assassinations he carried out prompt the highest levels of the U.S. government to unleash a massive manhunt. Behind the scenes, master spy Macklin Hayes is playing a very personal game of cat and mouse. He, more than anyone, wants Stone dead.

With their friend and unofficial leader in hiding, the members of the Camel Club risk everything to save him. Now, as the hunters close in, Stone's flight from the demons of his past will take him from the power corridors of Washington, D.C., to the small, isolated coal-mining town of Divine, Virginia-and into a world every bit as lethal as the one he left behind.

The story followed the Camel Club very well.

I read this book and listened to it. I enjoyed this book and the scheme in how the story kept me wanting more. It follows the way the Camel Club came together and worked together and their differences to help Oliver. I felt like I was part of the story.

No sound effects please.

I really liked the story and narration but the sound effects of gun shots and explosions was totally in necessary and annoying.

Easy reading

The characters are memorable, the plot, realistic and just the kind of book you like to listen to from beginning to end. Good job.

Divine Justice

Oh my, I hated to see this story end. This is the best one in the Camel Series. Well, at least Stone (Carr) had a happy ending. Well done!

GREAT READ! Very well done!

As an author, I'm a daily reader. Plus, I love series books and enjoy getting to know the characters. The tapestry of influences, events and friendships of loyalty abound in this piece of work. Again, well done! Rarely do I get excited to write a great review Before I've finished the book! Read The Camel Club series...you'll be glad you did.

Not the Camel Club's Finest Hour

Would you listen to Divine Justice again? Why?

No, I would not be inclined to listen or read this book again. While I like the Oliver Stone/John Carr character and appreciate the integrity and perseverance Baldacci builds into his personality, I tired of the Messiah complex that seemed to take over in this part of the series.

Would you recommend Divine Justice to your friends? Why or why not?

I would recommend the Camel Club series with the proviso that it bogs down from time to time and Divine Justice seems to be where the bog is most evident. That said, the series would not be complete if this book were omitted, so buzz through it and enjoy its better parts.

Have you listened to any of Ron McLarty’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

McLarty does a consistently good job. My only criticism of the performance falls into McLarty's portion of the work, but is actually the author's doing. The problem is the whole "he said/she said" thing. McLarty has to include it because Baldacci wrote it, but it gets in the way of the story and detracts from an otherwise good listening experience.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Not really.

Any additional comments?

Being a Boomer myself, I enjoy the Camel Club because it is one of many media statements making the point that we may be getting old, but don't count us out. My criticism of Divine Justice is simply that Stone's stoic going it alone is tiring, but he's still a hero in a world where we desperately need heroes - especially old ones.
