Not much in her hometown seems to have changed, but within the dark woods of Emmitsboro something evil spreads its poisonous power. Now the once-peaceful town is wrapped in a cloak of terror, hiding a treacherous heart. And now Clare must pay the price for digging up the secrets of the past...and confront an evil that may be unstoppable, because those who practice it believe it is divine.

I could not turn it off, Stayed up late to finish it. Great book, suspenseful.
The narrator is good, I didn't really notice her which is a good sing. It means I could focus on the story.
Yes the story seems a bit boring right now. I will try to keep listening.
It was so dark and had so many evil parts. I would change my reading it...
Yes. But I'll be more careful.
Yes I already have. Had to listen to it again with my daughter. Was great to watch her reaction. still thrilling the second time around.
The action at the end. Didn't know which way it would go. Such a suprise when Ernie came through and almost gave his life to save her.
When she found out that her dreams were actually real. Also when she discovered that Doc was in on it. That was totally un expected.
Yes I laughed and cried and got mad and scared. About every emotion came out with this story.
Nora Roberts can keep you up at nights with her stories, hard to put her stories to bed.
Let me start by saying that I am a huge Nora Roberts fan. I find her to be an excellent writer with deep plots and solid characters. This book does not fall short in any way. The reason for my 3 star rating on the story is the downright creepy scenes, and the way it ends. It is well written and well performed, however, the subject matter was somewhat disturbing, for me, in the amount of detail she goes in to. Others may find it just fine. This is personal preference issue. Since I hate reviews that spoil the plot, I won't say more than that.
To have a story. This is just a gross story on Satanism and the evil involved--in great detail. There is no mystery here. No real story. Bleh. The last read of Nora Roberts for me. EVER!
Here I thought I knew Nora Roberts books! This book is nothing like her past books that I've read. First there is the subject matter...which may be a little iffy for some, then the twist at the end. I wonder if this book will have a sequel?
