Not much in her hometown seems to have changed, but within the dark woods of Emmitsboro something evil spreads its poisonous power. Now the once-peaceful town is wrapped in a cloak of terror, hiding a treacherous heart. And now Clare must pay the price for digging up the secrets of the past...and confront an evil that may be unstoppable, because those who practice it believe it is divine.

The book was great, loved the story and characters really kept you hooked. The narrator could have been better, that would have made this a 5 star listen all around.
I love Nora and will probably read or listen to everything she has written in time. That said, this wasn't her best. It was a little too heavy on the Satanic ritual stuff. The ending was anticlimactic. If you aren't a die hard Nora fan, pass on this one.
it is like a Stephen King book that leaves you feeling afraid. Books for entertainment should not do that.
Not even close to her usually outstanding suspense and romance combination writing. This book was way to dark for Nora.
Not sure there was one
This book should marketed as hard core cult worship and brutality.
I couldn't take my earpiece out through all 3 parts! It was great.
absolutely I was constantly waiting for the next pin to drop!
has good inflection
definately lives up to Nora Roberts' reputation
Nora Roberts keeps giving us great novels
So many turns and twists. Keeps you wondering who did it?
The voices and inflections are wonderful. I don't think you can ever experience a book reading it as you can listening to a great narrator.
Yes, Roberts usually better.
Yes, something less simplistic where she really develops characters.
No. Couldn't finish so bored.
If you have only read this one, give Nora Roberts' later ones a chance as they are better.
