After a joyous honeymoon in Paris, Dexter is feeling pretty normal. But when a corpse is found displayed on a Miami beach, Dexter realizes another killer is on the loose.
More dastardly deeds desired? Listen to more Dexter.

"Maybe the first serial killer who unabashedly solicits our love." (Entertainment Weekly)
"Hilarious black humor." (USA TODAY)
The Dexter series books, except for the first, are nothing like the tv series. This Dexter is more clumsy, easily distracted, and implies he is more into torture. He also gets into messes that he can't walks into situations he can't get himself out of by his own unique skills. Finally the dialogue is like that of Forest Gump (from the books not the movie). This is my least favorite of the series. Writer repeats himself a lot and seems to be looking for an excuse to write another Dexter novel versus having a reason for it. However Dexter's unique view and inner dialogue is funny and makes the listen fun if not as satisfying as his first two.
Avid audiobook addict!
The TV show is MUCH better. This is a very poorly written book. The ending is ridiculous. Waste of a credit.
I was very surprised that this book had such a high rating and was so bad. I would not recommend it.
If i know that this book was noting like the TV series I wouldn't have bothered. Its not a bad book, I personally thought it was boring, but I already had an expectation of the character and who the actors interpreted them. But what happens in the book isn't what happens in the show. So fans of the Show beware but otherwise have fun.
Many parts of this book are wonderful. There are some great scenes. Unfortunately, the author destroyed the entire concept of Dexter as an exploration of humanity by introducing supernatural forces.
If I could give this book a negative score I would.
When I read the books, I can hear the voice of Jeff Lindsay. While Nick Landrum does a plausible job, he's not the true voice of Dexter. For Dexter lovers, this will get you your fix, but it really could be delicious Dexter with a little more work.
I was excited to read this book, because I really like the show. I knew the book was different than the show, but I didn't realize how terrible it actually is. The plot is boring, the story jumps all over the place, it's not suspenseful, and I already had and idea of how the book was going to end about half way through. I was very disappointed, please don't waste your time.
