Great story, bad voice acting.

Audio sounds distorted, and sounds like they took a pre recorded dictionary reading and cut it into a book.
I’ve read the book before and enjoyed it, but audiobooks are so convenient. I had a hard time listening to this one.

Great story audio a bit over modulated

The story is good. The audio production is off. The performance would be much better if they remixed the audio. You get used to it.

Overall well performance

Great book that was performed well. Easily the 2nd best narrator on the Jack Ryan series.

intriguing story

This was a very intriguing story. Several new movies and TV shows seem to have taken inspiration from it.
I didn't care for the narrator, I had to speed up the program to deal with the slow speaking style.

Part 1 of a 2 part series

What made the experience of listening to Debt of Honor the most enjoyable?

Clancy wasn't all over the map like he is in most of his books. It wasn't as difficult to remember the different characters.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Debt of Honor?

I liked the scene where Clark and Orteza see each other for the first time since Without Remorse, which was the first book in the Jack Ryan series.

What three words best describe John MacDonald’s voice?

He has a very deep and strong voice which meant that most of the characters had a low voice. Probably my least favorite narrator of all the books in the Jack Ryan series. He gave Orteza a very exaggerated Boston accent which he did not have in Without Remorse. He also gave Senator Trent a very strong Boston accent which I don't recall in previous books. He wasn't as good at changing his voice for different characters as most of the narrators are.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Part 1 of 2

Any additional comments?

The book ends at a point where there is obviously a sequel, so you will need to buy Executive Orders.

My favorite Tom Clancy book.

This is my favorite book in the series. This story really grabs this 80's army brat. I have listened to this story at least 3 times and when I don't have a new book this is is my drive home go to. The narrator's voice gives this book the correct weight. You won't regret the 25 + hours this book takes.

Great story, horrible narration

Almost like an artificial voice reading this book. Great story and can’t believe that this was the narration choice for this version.

Great story. Performance lacking.

I’m a Clancy fan. My wife and I are working through the Jack Ryan books on Audible. The performance of this book is somewhat flat; at times robotic. Several mispronunciations are noted as well. It’s still a good story, and the performance isn’t so bad to be painful. Performance doesn’t live up to previous books in the series.

Narrator puts you to sleep.

I loved the story, but the narration would make me sleepy in a few minutes. No emotion in his voice complete monotone.

bad narration

Great novel, as expected, but horrible narration. Pauses, or doesn't pause, at the wrong time. Definition of monotone.
