good book bad narrator

Great story, but narration was poorly done hence the low rating. Try to avoid this narrator.

Another Jack Ryan classic

In the vein of Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games, and others, the Jack Ryan story continues here.

Poor audio editing

It’s another great Jack Ryan story with its many characters, locations, details, etc. The actor reading it is good. However, whoever edited or produced the audio version gets failing grades. Numerous times the story switches location and the character speaking changes, but there’s no pause in the recording to clue the listener. Clancy’s story flow technique works when reading the text, but an audio version needs a producer or editor who understands how to handle that for someone listening. Whoever was hired for this one didn’t.

Narrator is just fine

As with other reviewers, you have to get into the book to adjust to the narration. It's really well done and the narrator does a great job. I listened to this in a single weekend. Great book!!

R. I. P. Tom Clancy

If Mr. Clancy had not written this book I’m afraid he may have never known what lies beyond the the first chapter. For if Mr. Clancy were alive today this narration would most certainly put him back to sleep.

Wonderful

Shocking, thrilling, wonderfully thought provoking. There are so many great things about this book.
My only disappointment was the lack of pauses between scenes in the narration. One scene would transition to another, with different people, in a different place without warning, or it seemed even a breath.
But this story is awesome!!!

Excellent!

Believable action packed scenario, plot twists and some predictable scenes, but overall an excellent listen.

Performance a bit dry initially, but once the reader was engaged in the story, the dictation of the story was extremely well done and characterizations well done as well

Needs new narration

The narrator was very hard to get used to. A bit too robotic sounding in the narration.
