Annie Darling - owner of the mystery bookstore, Death on Demand - prefers fictional crimes as opposed to the real things. But in one tragic week, two acts of violence shake the island community of Broward's Rock. First, a beloved doctor is found shot dead, seemingly by his own hand. Only days later, a local artist is arrested after his wife is murdered. Convinced her brother did not commit suicide, the doctor's sister turns to Annie and her husband, Max, for help. She has found a cryptic sketch her brother drew, linking him with the murdered woman. With the police considering both cases as good as closed, it's up to Annie and Max to sort through a rogues' gallery of suspects to see if someone is trying to frame the artist.

OK to read since it is part of a series but really didn't seem it had much interest maybe Beaune the carafes were not fleshed out
I would make it shorter, it has a lot of empty word that could have been eliminated. Took forever for me to listen to the one.
Yes I already have the next one but I think it will be my last one. A little disappointed in the last few books. They just drag. Too many word to describe everything. Some stuff is so unimportant.
Yes to quickly listen the #25 and not purchase anymore. I don't like forcing myself to finish a book, which I always have to do.
I have loved this series because I love Annie and Max Darling and I love the time she spends at the bookstore with all the other goofy female characters.
This story had NO side stories about the beloved characters in the Death On Demand Series. I had to stop the book halfway through as I could not bear the grossly exaggerated descriptions of every little motion made or emotion felt.
Voice was way too syrupy.
Nope, especially given that the series has been excellent and this was such a divergence from the series.
I am an artist, lover of books. Love reading or listening to a good book. I live on the East Coast of Canada with an awesome ocean view.
Some excitement, a narrator that could read like the cared.
Another author, not this one. Was looking to add to the list of books I read/listen to, but won't be adding this author or narrator.
