Aidan Flynn, a private investigator and eldest of the Flynn brothers, scoffs at the haunted-house rumors - especially since Kendall Montgomery, a tarot card reader who has been living in the mansion, is the one to tell him the tale of a woman in white. But when he finds a human bone on the grounds and another by the river, Aidan delves into the dark history of the Flynn plantation.
Forced together to uncover the truth, Aidan and Kendall realize that a serial killer whose victims seem to vanish into thin air has long been at work...and that their own fates are about to be sealed forever unless they believe in the unbelievable.

"Dream messages and premonitions, ghostly sightings, capable detective work and fascinating characters blend to make a satisfying chiller." (Publishers Weekly)
This book reminded me of something Karen Rose would write.
The story line is an almost even split between romance and tension and on the other side murder and mayhem.
I loved it. The characters are well formed and grow well throughout the story. The mystery and mayhem keeps you glued to the book and the result is nice and tidy.
I loved the setting and the author did an amazing job with world building.
I will definitely read the next book in this series and I suspect that this author now has a new fan.
As a psychiatrist addiction is important to me. I am addicted to audible books, kindle books, my husband, and my thirteen cats.
As always Heather Graham writes about interesting places and people. This was a good mystery and had all the usual suspects including the ghost running for cover. Hot lead too. you will not want to miss the Flynn brothers.
12 step program please. I am addicted to Audible! I love trashy sexy books, award winning novels and everything between. Bring it!
This is my first Heather Graham download and I have to say, I really enjoyed this audio book. It has mystery, romance, *ghosts*, interesting characters and some twists and turns. The sexy, cranky Aidan Flynn and his two brothers Jeffrey and Zach inherit a plantation in New Orleans from an aunt they never met. In fact they never knew she even existed until they learn of their inheritance. Kendall Montgomery was the caregiver and companion in the last months of Aidan's aunt's life. Kendall stays in the house even after the aunt's death. She and Aidan at first do not like each other. They don't trust each other. Aiden thinks she has ulterior motives and Kendall does not understand how Aiden never knew he had this wonderful aunt that left him her plantation. After they get over each other, they are all over each other, sparks fly and they start a romantic relationship and begin solving a serial murder mystery together. This is a super enjoyable listen. I love mysteries, especially that take place in the south. I will be downloading book 2.
Yes only because of its convenience
Aidan because of his determination to do whats right regardless of his peers.
he brings the characters to life
I wasn't exactly thrilled with this book. It really didn't seem to flow well. If this is book one then I would have expected a bit more background on the main characters then there was. I spent a lot of time with the "Huh" thought going through my head. Having the sex scenes narrated by a man and being that in depth in the description was really not something I was used to with a male narrator. Normally you get that more in the books narrated by women so that threw me off a bit. I would probably listen to another just because I want to see if they get better, but it would probably have to be on sale for me to do it.
Maybe. The story is okay, but it's a little awkward and disjointed. It's hard to tell, however, if this is due to the way the book was written or the way it's narrated. The main character's voice is normal, but otherwise most of the men with southern accents sound either dumb or effeminate. The female voices are AWFUL and they really had a negative influence on the way I felt about the characters. All of the women sound stupid or whiny. It made the whole book very irritating to listen to. If I hadn't purchased this book as part of a $4.95 sale, I would have been pretty upset about how bad it was.
I loved the story very cute and a good chilling mystery. Didn't like the performer paused too much made me think it paused or stopped working. Other then that a wonderful book. I will be reading the others!
This book is part of a series but is also a standalone book. The characters are intriguing, all of them, and the story was perfectly told. Several times I was sure I knew who the killer was, but was tested and unsure several times. In the end, one of the two people I suspected was the killer, but the fact that it kept me guessing made it worthwhile and enjoyable. I loved the location and setting of the story and the added supernatural twist was perfect. Great narration! I knew who was talking just by the different voice the narrator used. Will definitely get the rest of the series for the narration and the story. Would read it again!!!
The story was good and I enjoyed the characters. I am, however, disgusted at the narrator. What a crock of shit his southern drawl is & I would know because I am a native of southern Louisiana. I am trying to find the other books with a different narrator. Any help?
