Publisher's summary

Don't Miss the Original Series Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan Starring John Krasinski!

Tom Clancy delivers a #1 New York Times bestselling Jack Ryan novel that will remind readers why he is the acknowledged master of international intrigue and nonstop military action.

It is The Campus. Secretly created under the administration of President Jack Ryan, its sole purpose is to eliminate terrorists and those who protect them. Officially, it has no connection to the American government - a necessity in a time when those in power consider themselves above such arcane ideals as loyalty, justice, and right or wrong.

Now covert intelligence expert Jack Ryan Jr. and his compatriots at The Campus - joined by black ops warriors John Clark and “Ding” Chavez - have come up against their greatest foe: a sadistic killer known as the Emir. Mastermind of countless horrific attacks, the Emir has eluded capture by every law enforcement agency in the world. But his greatest devastation is yet to be unleashed as he plans a monumental strike at the heart of America.

On the trail of the Emir, Jack Ryan Jr. will find himself following in his legendary father’s footsteps on a manhunt that will take him and his allies across the globe, into the shadowy arenas of political gamesmanship, and back onto U.S. soil in a race to prevent the possible fall of the West....

Take another thrill ride with Jack Ryan.

Yes. While not as fast paced as some of the earlier series in the

What other book might you compare Dead or Alive to and why?

Any good books in the spy/corruption/ Terrorism genre

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

IT validates what has been obvious to many about parallel actions and perspectives of the current administration.

Any additional comments?

Well worth a listen. I did not realize that this book was later in sequence than

Great read but a little disappointed

Would you consider the audio edition of Dead or Alive to be better than the print version?

Yes, narration is always better.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Dead or Alive?

Any additional comments?

I loved the book but I was disappointed with the fact that the team did notify the facility of the attack when there was time to do so. Instead they steal a chopper and handle the problem themselves. I think this was a dumb move and could have cost the country dearly, That is why I gave it 4 stars.

Good story, but not so good narrator.

What did you like best about Dead or Alive? What did you like least?

I enjoy the Clancy series. The storyline is good and kept me interested. The narrating is lacking. Some of the accents and pronunciations are off the mark.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Good storyline.

What didn’t you like about Lou Diamond Phillips’s performance?

He is monotone.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Yes

Dead or Alive

Be ready for detail. Mr. Clancey has plenty of that. I loved the book. As always it was intreging and the characters start coming together in mid book. Enjoy.

somewhere between dead and alive. in limbo

never really got started. quit in the middle of part two. obsessive detail with so much inside jargon akin to a textbook. too many subplots each with excruciating detail. never knew where it was going. joins a list of 3 or 4 out of hundreds that it was just not worth the effort to listen to. obviously a disappointment.
