"I'm in trouble, Liz. I've uncovered something… They're watching…."
That panicked message on her answering machine is the last time Liz Ames hears from her sister Rachel, pastor of Paradise Christian Church in Key West, Florida. Compelled to uncover the truth about her sister's disappearance, she heads to Key West. Within hours of her arrival, a successful banker jumps to his death. Then a teenage girl whom Rachel was counseling is found brutally murdered. The ritualistic style of the killing is hauntingly similar to that used by the notorious "New Testament" serial killer—now on death row.
Could the teen's murder be related to Rachel’s disappearance? Is a copycat killer at work? And why do the police refuse to help? For answers, Liz turns to Rick Wells, a former Miami cop who worked the fringes of the "New Testament" investigation. Together, they peel away layers of deception to reveal a terrifying adversary—and the unspeakable evil at the heart of this island paradise.

I love the outdoors and the warm weather!! And I never leave home with out my I-Nano. It should be surgically placed into my ear. I live and breath for books.
It takes a good narrator to make a book come alive, and Gayle Hendrix did just that. I enjoyed this book it's a good suspense, thriller. I couldn't put it down.
Tell us about yourself!
the entire book kept my interest...wondering all the time...who really did it!
This book kept me on the edge of my seat...and at bedtime i couldn't put it down!
Neither the story or the writing was very good and the narration made both worse.
eliminate the Christian jargon and ciche writing. narrator sounds like a little girl.
Audible needs to protect the reader from such trash! I have lost a lot of trust.
No. Tremendously cliched writing.
No. Her performance is very strange. Sometimes her voice sounds almost robotic, other times rather childlike.
Sadness that I wasted money on it.
The story set in Key West with some suspense that turns out to be an average mystery that is ruined by the narrator and her pronunciation of common items. Her accent is distracting and combined with the main characters wishy-washy mental stability makes for a messy disappointing audiobook.
I cold not get through it. The book jumps from character to character with no tie in with each other. I may give it another try but seriuosly doubtful!
