Publisher's summary

Driving deep into the woods to her husband's cottage with her best friend in tow, Jake knows she has a challenging week ahead of her. Aside from saying good-bye to paved roads and indoor plumbing, Jake bet her husband that she could finish building the cottage porch in only a few days. But as they set to work, they soon realize that they're not alone.

Recently escaped from prison and having fled into the woods, Dewey Hooper recognizes Jake the instant he sees her. Her testimony got him sent away for murder years ago and here he can finally exact his revenge. Determined to make payback look like an accident, Dewey hatches a lethal scheme to ensure neither woman returns to Eastport alive.

Getting Tired of Tiptree

Would you listen to Dead Level again? Why?

No, and it is a toss-up if I buy the next book. The stories are getting boring- and now we have the ghost of Jake's former husband - what next?

Any additional comments?

Time to do something different or let Jake and the gang go.

great series

this whole series is awesome, love the books read by Lindsay Ellison, actually takes me to Maine. I run a small library, and it's hard to read the books with patrons coming and going, but with audible, I'm able to travel in the pages of books while sitting at my desk. thank you Lindsay, for the readings, and mostly Sarah Graves for writing these fantastic books with characters that are like family.

Was sad when I finished this one!

Thoroughly enjoyed the entire series! Gobbled them up, wish there were more! Loved the characters, loved the narration. A bit implausible maybe, all the mayhem in one small area - but life is stranger than fiction, so....

The phantom visitors put a weird, wacky spin on the story. Just perfect! Hope to see more from this author and narrator.
