Publisher's summary

Ex-CIA master assassin Court Gentry has always prided himself on his ability to disappear at will, to fly below the radar and exist in the shadows - to survive as the near-mythical Gray Man. But when he takes revenge upon a former employer who betrayed him, he exposes himself to something he’s never had to face before.

A killer who is just like him.

Code-named Dead Eye, Russell Whitlock is a graduate of the same ultra-secret Autonomous Asset Program that trained and once controlled Gentry. But now, Whitlock is a free agent who has been directed to terminate his fellow student of death. He knows how his target thinks, how he moves, and how he kills. And he knows the best way to do the job is to make Gentry run for his life - right up until the moment Dead Eye finally ends it.

That you can immediately hit play and re-enter a beloved new world, or love story, or era from history is a gift to the devoted listener. But how to pick just 100 of these unique and immersive listening journeys? We defined a series as having a minimum of three books, and—after some debate—we decided the titles had to be anchored in fiction. From YA to horror to historical fiction, from fresh voices to seminal tales, hours of discovery await.

A Good Next Step in the Series

Greaney does a good job of keeping the story moving along with interesting plot twists, plausible solutions and presenting the Gray Man with superior, but believable abilities.

Best one yet

Really the best one yet. Having a genuinely formidable 'big bad' was great and let us see more of Gentry.

He’s BACK

After being disappointed with book 3, it was good to see Court Gentry return in Dead Eye!

The swagger, the confidence, the focus, the mission, the attitude all vintage Gray Man!!

Loved the Action

I loved the action in this story! You don't quite know which way is up or who to trust even though you know something nefarious is going down. Still love Court Gentry "The Gray Man" for his attitude, skills and heart.

Much better than Ballistic.

Court is the dumbest super field agent ever. The action is good. But the swearing is gratuitous. And I can't count the times Court passes up the opportunity to adequately arm himself simply to create the opportunity to fight for his life against superior force. Except for his more elaborate operations, any Boy Scout would be better prepared. Elite Level Pulp Fiction. But Dead Eye is entertaining. So far Ballistic was the most pointless and disappointing.

Couldn't put it down!

This is the fourth book I've listened to in this series and by far my favorite! I would put my earbuds in while cooking so I could keep listening since my husband hasn't listened to it yet!
