Investigating the discovery of the body, Sergeant Holly Rudd knows she’s an unwelcome presence in the close-knit community of Bamfield. But she doesn’t expect the residents to be spooked by the mere sight of her. What rattles Holly even more, though, is her overwhelming desire for diver and former Special Forces soldier Finn Carver.
Finn has no doubt that the corpse he found while diving was a victim of foul play - just as there’s no doubt that he wants Holly. Now the two will have to come together to outwit a criminal who’s already gotten away with murder.

Exciting. Great narration. Intriguing depiction of characters. Riveting story line. Plot twists unpredictable. I look forward to more from this author.
Really enjoyed this title. The characters were rich, plot tight, and romance steamy. Oh, and the narration was on point.
I really enjoyed this story a lot. It was fast moving and kept my interest It is a good mix of mystery/suspense and romance. I liked Flynn and Holly's relationship and the supporting cast was good also. The narrator also did a great job
I'd recently read T.A's Cold Justice series and absolutely loved it though I thought they could have been a little longer... So, I thought I'd give this series a go. So far, I am not loving it. Almost finished with it and I've yet to connect to the story or characters. The plot sounded great...I don't know if the problem for me is the story, the narrator, or a combination of them both. The most interest part of the plot IS the most neglected aspect of the story ...that story line had so much potentional but outside of vague references to it...nothing...
The narrator seems to have no idea this is supposed to be suspenseful. Her bright sing song voice is very distracting to me. For lack of a better expression....I don't feel the story from her...she is just reading. Her lack of emotional reference for the story line makes the characters seem cold and distance...I am not liking anyone right now.... At this point, I really don't care "who dun it" or about the heroine's origin - I just want it over.
Again, I can't say that the problems with this book is all the narrator, the story is slow and what could have been a great mystery over 8hrs in has little tie-in to the story arc. I've already purchased the 2nd book and I am not certain if I am interested in reading or listening to it. I'm just glad this wasn't my first experience of Toni Anderson. I will definitely NOT be looking for this narrator though.
I guess I should have known that this would be a romance novel but I didn't read the reviews. The narrator doesn't handle the male voice very well.
I would like to say a different narrator, but the story is a very immature story line.
Very immature writing style; the story line seemed to be more about the sexual innuendos then solving of the murders.
It is very obvious the narrator is attempting to impersonate a male voice. However, it is poorly done and very distracting when you are trying to listen to the reader.
I would definitely do away with the sexual undertones and innuendos, the curse words especially the f word. The use of these gimmicks to make a story more interesting is in very poor taste and leaves the writing talent questionable.
I would not recommend this book.
