Dale Brown's Dreamland: Retribution

The Dreamland team used stealth, raw nerve, and technology to defuse a nightmare on the other side of the world. But now the darkness is racing toward America at blinding speed. With more than two dozen nuclear devices unaccounted for, the global masters of terror have set a catastrophe in motion - a surprise attack more deadly than Pearl Harbor and 9/11 combined. If the nation is to survive, Lt. Colonel Tecumseh "Dog" Bastian and his crew will have to reach deep into their cutting-edge arsenal.

    "Typical Dale Brown quality"

This was my first audio book. I wondered how I would "process" hearing instead of seeing; I think that, if anything, I get more out out of the audio books; I can't speed-read audio :-) so I get ALL the details. The story totally lived up to the Dale Brown standard. I hated to put it down!

"Nice Read... Will go right to next book"

This is a Good Read...Listen...I needed background on the Dreamland team and noticed that there is a good progression in the way that the characters have been developed. You will want to get many books in the series because of needing the history of events. The main Character is a little too consumed with everything to the neglect of his personal life...Oh Well.

"Christopher Lane out to lunch! (or the bar?)"

Christopher Lane should have listened to his previous
Dreamland narrations, because he obviously forgot his "voice characters for this one. Maybe twenty % of them sound the same as "all" the previous books! "Starship" sounds just like "James T. Kirk". I think one character sounded like "Spock" from time to time. I most certainly hope his readings of the remaining books are back up to his usual form.

    "great story."

some of the voices of characters changed from the last reading, starship in particular. Zen almost had me crying though.

    "Not a great bood"
Would you try another book from Dale Brown and Jim DeFelice and/or Christopher Lane?

Not as easily. Disappointed in this book. No meat to the story. Not well written. More soap opera than story.

Has Dale Brown's Dreamland turned you off from other books in this genre?

I always liked Dreamland series...but not this one. If this is what they are like now...I pass...

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

It's ok. No good story..no good performance

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

nothing...other than wishing I had my money back

    Any additional comments?

    What's to say...?
