Publisher's summary

Cynthia and Dan first met in in the Washington McBride Series: The Fairfax Fix. Fans of Mike McBride will remember Cynthia as Senator Mike's pseudo office receptionist while, behind the scenes, acting as his bodyguard and chief of security. In this current novel, Cynthia decides to take on the ISIS terrorists and their crony counterparts in a 21st century war waged online, for the most part, using the very latest high-tech equipment. Cynthia and her two young compatriots operate out of an amazing, self-contained, secret cyber war room, housed in her brother Glenn's Fairfax, Virginia P.I. agency complex. Glenn has assembled equipment from all over the world, surpassing that of the FBI, CIA, and the US Air Force. His servers are hidden at sea, accessed by private satellite, powered by batteries so cool, advanced, and efficient they haven't been invented yet. Thus, the two young computer geniuses, Tim and Garth, are able to intercept and sabotage cyber communications among terrorists anywhere in the world, from ISIS headquarters, and Iran's nuclear agency, to North Korea's Supreme Leader and more. They are able to disrupt terrorist plots in the homeland and abroad, leading to a stunning, surprising and satisfactory ending.

Meanwhile, Cynthia is carrying on the romantic part of the novel, caught in a triangle between two ardent admirers, Sgt. Dan McIntyre, and the mysterious Sky Eastman. After many twists and turns, which keep you guessing right to the end, she makes the right choice. You will be surprised - guaranteed!

Both action and romantic story

Love story with a lot of actions and intrigue!
Cynthia and Dan! This is the title of the novel, but when I read the story, it was a story about Cynthia and her life only.
There were a lot of inconsistencies in the story. Such a brave and clever and very careful woman makes so much mistakes in her private life: she spent a night with a stranger, left her car keys in the car, both Dan and Sky could enter her house whenever they wanted. Besides, I didn’t like the manner of the author’s description of the situation. She uses so much unnecessary words and sentences! The reader could use several tones to show us who was speaking, but very often his tone was boring and annoying.
I liked the the plot of the story thoroughly. If the author could review the story and make it more like the reality, it would be more interesting.
The description about how Sky speaks about plan B makes me Nervous, because no man would offer his beloved woman to kill his and her baby.
Dan, who was Dan for her, why he became a stranger just after she met Sky? Why he is in the title of the book, and what has happened in the end, it is not clear.
I wouldn’t read the book for second time.

Cynthia and Dan, Cyber war by Dorothy May Mercer

Cynthia and Dan, Cyber war by Dorothy May Mercer is an adventurous fiction which involves terrorism, technology romance, etc.

The story surrounds Cynthia Peterson who is a chief investigator and a boardguard of Senator Mike McBride but she pretends to be a receptionist to hide her identity. Glenn, Cynthia's brother helps to fight against terrorism in Washington DC through the manipulation of 21st century equipment and technology with the help of Tim and Garth in a Cyber war room.

Cynthia had love affairs with Surgent Dan Mclntyre who they resolve to break up and remain friends. Cynthia on one of her encounters meets Sky Eastman who they make out and she becomes pregnant and had an option to terminate the baby. However, later she miscourages. She later makes a decision and marries him.

The book is full of suspense cases. I really loved the book since the flow is recommendable. I was also able to know how modern technology can be used to fight against terrorism without physical war. I was also educated about early signs and symptoms of miscourage.

The book is easy to undestand. I recommend this book to people who love suspense, technology, science, romance etc.

This is my first audio book but I really loved it and how the narrator could manipulate the story and become as if it's so real. I couldn't stop listening to the story over and over. So thumbs up to Scott Ellis.

Cynthia and Dan: Cyber War Dorothy May Mercer

Cynthia and Dan were dating for three years but it was a lackluster relationship. Cynthia meets Sky Eastman, a mysterious person. A love triangle develops in which Sky declares his feelings and willingness to marry, and Dan becomes a stalker. In the end Cynthia makes the right choice.

Cynthia and her brother, Glen, decided to wage cyber war against ISIS and terrorist threats against the United States. In this effort they employ the latest high-tech equipment and the expertise of two young computer geniuses, Tim and Garth. They wiretap and interfere with cyber communications between terrorists the world over. They even manage to foil a plot to assassinate the President of the United States

Cynthia and Dan: Cyber War by Dorothy May Mercer is an easy book to read and it keeps your interest with clever twists and turns.

I found no spelling errors in the book but the formatting I found inconsistent and could be improved upon. Chapter Three of the book contains a section that is marked “This Section Rated R” which I find to be unnecessary as the book is classified as an adult romantic suspense and that the romantic scene is not overly exotic. I also think that the section on how to avoid and abort pregnancy may be offensive to one who does not believe in abortion.

I enjoyed reading this book and award it a rating of five out of five stars.

I recommend this book for anyone who loves crime and romance and an enjoyable and relaxing read without any heavy plots.

The author makes a serious effort to guide us into the life of Synthia, a security expert who finds herself trapped between romance and James Bond situation. She will have to figure out both soon enough so she can save the president of the USA and herself. A relaxing, enjoyable book to help you relax while listening to something interesting and well-written.

The iron lady

I must comment in the first place that, the author (DOROTHY MAY MERCER) took a lot of time on her choice of words and it was so real as though i was watching a movie. Coming back to the story, i must say, making out time for romance and work was not an easy task for Cynthia the main character.
1. She had to deal with the fact that she, in one way or the other disappointed Dan on a well planed first date and on the other hand had to worry about the sudden feelings she had for Sky.
2. she had to stick to her work, mission and also setting up an unbeatable team to carry on the mission she had in mind.
3. she was confused on what she really wanted but at the end she had to make a choice which was the best thing she could ever do for herself.
- In a brief way, i will surely recommend this story to as many as will care to read interesting stories.
- The positive thing about this story is that, the author practically gave a touch on every part of Cynthia's daily thoughts and dons and this are the kind of stories i will like to have my relaxing moments with.
- Though the next steps were predictable, it was all together fun listening through the story.

Alright

This was a fun read. I wasn’t very into the romance of this novel and the pacing was a little off for me. However, I did find the storyline surround the cyber warfare to be really interesting.

Cynthia is in danger!

This was my first audible book to listen to and Steve Ellis did a great job of narrating. The main character, Cynthia Patterson, though intelligent in her job as a security chief for a senator and in launching cyber warfare against terrorists, was not very discerning in her personal relationships with Dan or Sky. I felt like Cynthia's decisions led her into some dangerous situations. Overall, I wanted to keep listening to the end to find out what would happen and who could Cynthia trust.
