Publisher's summary

Stone Barrington enters the cutthroat fray of politics in the stunning thriller from the New York Times best-selling author.

Stone Barrington has traveled to Los Angeles for the Democratic National Convention and finds that the political scene has been shaken up. First Lady Katherine Rule Lee is running for the party nomination, a loyal senator has died and left her seat vacant, and the Secret Service has received a credible threat toward Kate. It will take all of Stone's discretion and powers of persuasion to help arrange things for a desirable outcome.

not a mystery, but a political statement

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

someone who is brain challenged.

What was most disappointing about Stuart Woods’s story?

Poorly written, mores than his other books.Nothing but campaigning.

What didn’t you like about Tony Roberts’s performance?

he's o k but all of his women's voices sound like men.

What character would you cut from Cut and Thrust?

Cate

Awful

What disappointed you about Cut and Thrust?

The book has very little real substance. If it were an authors first work it would only be published by the author.

Would you ever listen to anything by Stuart Woods again?

If he were to get back to his crime series roots.

What about Tony Roberts’s performance did you like?

Tony Roberts always give a great performance.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

I was a major dissapointment

Any additional comments?

If you enjoy reading thin stories about limousine liberals, this is the book for you.

A COHERENT STORY!!!!

What was most disappointing about Stuart Woods’s story?

Most of these were chopped up NOTHINGS for a story

What didn’t you like about Tony Roberts’s performance?

The only thing that was worthwhile

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Cut and Thrust?

The Author and hire a ghost writer to find a better patchwork

Wow how boring can a book get....

Would you try another book from Stuart Woods and/or Tony Roberts?

We listened for three hours hoping it would get better...how many times can you listen to people sitting down for lunch and sitting down for dinner....who cares where they sit!

Would you ever listen to anything by Stuart Woods again?

Yes, we love Stone. I I don't know what happened here.....

What does Tony Roberts bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

We love Tony. I wish he would read more books.

What character would you cut from Cut and Thrust?

Who cares....they were all so boring

Mostly politics not Intrigue -

What was most disappointing about Stuart Woods’s story?

About half the book was about politics, fictional politics, but still not my choice of reading material. The Lee's DETAILED political escapades could have been cut in half or completely circumnavigated.

What about Tony Roberts’s performance did you like?

I enjoy Tony Roberts's characters portrayal. I have listened to all the prior books and they feel like old friends.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The second half of the book got much more interesting.

Its a love letter to the Clintons

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Get back to writing about crime and not politics

Has Cut and Thrust turned you off from other books in this genre?

Yes, if this author continues writing about the greatness of the Democratic party

Have you listened to any of Tony Roberts’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Great performance as always

Do you think Cut and Thrust needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Please NO

I am very forgiving, but have my limits

What would have made Cut and Thrust better?

The story is very thin. The tension is not compelling. They should have skipped this story altogether. I do not understand how this moves Stone's story forward. Ann is no Arrington and other than her connection to Kate, do not see the attraction.

What do you think your next listen will be?

A best seller - The Good Girl

Which scene was your favorite?

Did not have a favorite.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Sleeper

This is the first book that Stone Barrington is in the background and the story plot is dull at best. Half the book the about politics and conventions in which I rather watch paint dry. I’ll be returning this book for the next in series.
