Jason and Vanessa are back with a new case, and this one pushes them to the limit. Clues are being left at the scene of the homicides but they can't figure out the meaning.
Frustration mounts, as does the number of victims, but the detectives won't give up. Will they figure it out too late, or are they smarter than the killer gives them credit for.

A fast moving story where the detectives seem like they are real in developing their investigation. The narrator, as he has done before, picks up the pace of the story as he reads the text. Joshua Bennington does his best work when the story flows. The book just ends too quickly leaving me to hope there will be a new adventure available real soon.
Detective Strong is obviously the favorite as everything revolves around him.
Waiting for the next one. I like the concept of 2.5 hour books.
I would listen to "Cruel Deception" again and have it on my best audio books list.
Most of the time the story line kept me from turning the story off, I always wanted to hear what was next.
Joshua Bennington's voice reminds me of the men telling stories over the radio I heard as a child. The old mystery/detective stories. The only thing that is missing is the music.
The killing were a little messy. But make you want Detective Strong to get the guy even more.
I gave this audio book a 5 star review as well as the other book by John Dalglish I listened too because of the performance of the narrator Joshua Bennington. He made the book for me.
The narrator gave the novel a mystery tone.
Terrific audio book, you need to add it to your collection of detective mystery books.
Almost all audio versions of a book are more entertaining than the printed version plus I can do something else with my hands and eyes. Like drive or cut my grass.
I liked the suspense of the mystery. Mr. Dalglish held off to the end for this who done it.
I have heard other performances by Mr. Bennington and have liked them all. Hope Mr. Dalglish will use him again.
I loved this performance and gave it a five star rating. The story was great and the narration was terrific
SUSPENSE TO THE END
THE (BAD GUY) OR SLICER! HE MADE THE STORY. THE MYSTERY WAS WHO WAS HE? ALL THE OTHER'S ARE THE SAME FROM BOOK TO BOOK.
I ALWAYS LIKE WHERE WE FIND OUT WHO THE BAD GUY IS AND WHY HE DID IT.
I THOUGHT THE NARRATOR DID A PARTICULARLY GOOD JOB AND GAVE THE BOOK A MORE REAL FEEL. HE GAVE THE BAD GUY A MORE MYSTERIOUS TONE THAN JUST READING THE BOOK. IF YOU LIKE JASON STRONG DETECTIVE BOOKS YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS BOOK.
I liked all of Mr. Dalglishes books and would recommend this one as well.
This Jason Strong detective story had a different twist to it and he held out the till the very end to give us the "who don it". I always like to keep guessing to the end. I liked the narration very much and will be hearing of Joshua Bennington's narrations..
What I found most entertaining about this book was that I did not guess "who done it" until I was told at the end. Those kinds of books keep me going to the end. Hard to turn off the audio book.
Each of the killings were unforgettable because they were soooo gross.
I am really liking this reader. This is the second or third book I have heard him read. I have enjoyed them all more because of his voice. He brought a lot to this and the other books he has done. I want to hear more of him.
Get the audio book you will like it. We have heard it twice already and will play it again for our friends.
The audio book was better than the printed book because the author gave the story line but the narrator brought the characters to life. All audio books give the story line more dimension and depth.
The author kept the killer veiled to the end. This makes the story much more of a mystery for the reader. I liked that!
Joshua Bennington has a captivating voice. He gave each character in the audio book a distinct and interesting voice. That's the kind of reader I enjoy hearing.
The murders were a little gross but I guess the author needed that to show what a bad guy the killer was and the killings were in the end useless.
I have liked all of John Dalglish's detective Strong books and I particularly liked this new narrator. I hope to hear more books by him!!
The book kept us in the dark about the killer until the very end. Hard to put down because I kept trying to think of who the killer could be.
This was a book I could listen to from beginning to end and not turn off.
I liked both the story and the reader. I would recommend it. The reader did a particularly good job with the characters.
