Publisher's summary

Repairman Jack is back! Jack can fix any problem, natural or supernatural, for a price. Now, in his next gripping adventure, he takes on two cases at once. The first involves a nun being blackmailed. What’s in those photos, she won’t say, but with her meager savings just about exhausted, she hires Jack to help her.

The second: an elderly woman needs Jack to find her missing son. Jack must infiltrate the inner reaches of the Dormentalist Church, a secretive, globe-spanning cult whose members include some of the biggest and most powerful names in entertainment, sports, and politics. Ruthless in its pursuit of critics and enemies, the Church hides a sinister agenda known only to its ruling elite.

But Jack can be ruthless, too, going to darker lengths than ever before as he crisscrosses the two fix-it jobs to settle the deadliest of scores.

Another great RJ book

After the stress of Jack’s father being a potential victim of the otherness in the last book, it was nice to have a book to tried and watch Jack work his fixes without seeing this close to him under threat.

Repairman Jack doing what he does best

Where does Crisscross rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is a good light listen. I just finished two Ludlum books and needed light fast paced and good so - Here it is...
Christopher Price did a great job narrating.

What other book might you compare Crisscross to and why?

It can only be compared to other Repairman Jack books. Wilson has a certain style and Jack can be a bit predictable but, without being a spoiler I did not expect this ending.

Which scene was your favorite?

The final scene with the church leader.

Any additional comments?

I was sorry for with the way it turned out for the nun. Not surprised though, I think the woman had some problems. Also did not expect what happened with the church founder - Wow! All in all this was a good listen. These books are not deep but they make a great listen and Jack is a good even if maybe a little shady hero.

Masterful

As usual, F.Paul Wilson wove a fantastic, enjoyable tale that highlighted his masterful ability to not only story-tell, but also his eye for detail and imagery. As a native New Yorker, I was so clearly able to visualize not only locations, but characters as well! Mr. Wilson doesnt seem to need to go into great detail to have his characters admired, likeable, hated, believable. In my opinion, his characters are never unchacteristically over the top. RMJ is one of my all time favorite characters. I am sorry for not discussing the plot itself, I was afraid I would give something away. Suffice it to say, when justice is dealt out, you may want to throw your hands up as well and say as I did: " Yes!! Finally!"

Great read...Except for the 'Otherness"

Where does Crisscross rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Enjoyed this book, good fixes, very entertaining. As always though, ruined by "The Otherness".

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, good RJ Fix-it's

What aspect of Christopher Price’s performance would you have changed?

His read is flat. hes not bad, just not a good fit for this series. the reader from Cold city was better.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Its repairman Jack, not Oprah...no, nothing "Moved" me lol

Any additional comments?

I wish Wilson could just let Jack fix things and leave the Otherness crap out. The fixes in each of the books are enough of a foundation to stand on, you dont need this cosmic world garbage.

Jack. The hero u hate to love!

This series gets better with each book. Jack is a sadistic but vindictive mastermind who u hate to love. The plot twists are beautifully intertwined to create a sometimes overly perfect flow. It is frightening to pull for a good guy who does so much killing. But you do anyway. And in the end you feel as vindicated as Jack does. If u liked any of the other handyman Jack books ... you'll love this one.
