Publisher's summary

When a fragile peace breaks down and promptly devolves into a rapidly escalating shooting war between Pakistan and India, the United States is forced to intervene. With only hours remaining before the conflict reaches a deadly point of no return, the White House must find a way to shut it down immediately - or risk the likelihood of a new global war.

A radical cleric has become the democratically elected president of Pakistan and uses a brutal incident in the Kashmir region as an opportunity to ignite war with India. The highly lethal conventional war spins out of control when Pakistan initiates a nuclear attack. India is on the verge of launching their own nuclear response, one that will have unimaginably disastrous results for both the United States and the world at large.

With only one chance to head this off, the president of the United States sends in his best people to do whatever it takes to restore the fragile peace to the region. With the clock ticking and Pakistan in the hands of a religious radical willing to do anything to destroy India, there remains only one viable option: to execute a coup d’état in Pakistan.

There is only one man with the skills and experience to infiltrate the live war theater and remove the Pakistani president from power. Only one man the White House can trust. His name: Dewey Andreas. Now they have to find him before time runs out.

From the author of the critically acclaimed thriller Power Down comes the latest ripped-from-the-headlines novel featuring his indelible and indomitable protagonist, the unforgettable Dewey Andreas.

Great Sequel

Any additional comments?

My son recently commented that the value of fictional books is simply entertainment. While that may be true of some books, this series offers enough detail that is presented in an easy to understand way that one actually learns more about the region, history and geo-political climate. Great follow-on book; hope there will be more.

Ben Coes Pens a Real Thriller

Novel #2 in the Dewey Andreas series was an ok follow up to the great beginning book. This is a series that should be read in order as they do build upon each other.

Again, Andreas fights thru a plethora of bad and evil to come out the winner in this pro-American, "We're the Best", You all suck philosophy that rule the terrorist and thriller genre.

The new narrator was as successful in detailing Andreas and the rest of the characters in this book as Peter Hermann, the narrator for book #1.

An excellent follow up..not quite as dramatic but well worth your credit. I'm just going to go ahead and purchase the following 3 books..you might say I'm hooked on Dewey Andreas.

Story slow at times in the beginning but good overall. An insightful angle into diplomacy and geopolitics.

...Dewey Andreas is a badass!

Finished listening to this book - all 14 hours - over a weekend and I must confess, it is very good. Second book in the Dewey Andreas series and I am now 'hooked'! Ben Coes is a talented writer. If you like action-thrillers, check out one of Ben Coes books. I promise you won't be disappointed...

Page turner

Great writing. Fast paced. Andreus is a great character with interesting complexity. Can’t wait to read book 3 in the series.
