Dewey Andreas is a character in the mold of Jack Reacher from Lee Childs, Mitch Rapp from Vince Flynn, and John Wells from Alex Berenson--morally superior guys fighting for justice and always in the thick of a problem, but with special skills: CIA assasins, ex-Seals, and Military Police investigators. They can be hard to keep apart, as fans of this genre know, but they can be counted on to beat any number of bad guys eventually, save the girl/country/world, and even make mistakes once in awhile to keep them (almost) human. Dewey is the best of the bunch, in my view, and both of the Dewey Andreas books are superbly exciting with just enough believable current events to make them very hard to put down.

Unreal!!!

This might just be the best book I have ever read. The action never stops. The plot is so intricate and so well conceived it is unbelievable. I can't believe this is only his second book. I can't get enough of Dewey Andreas. Kudos Ben Coes.

Oscar worthy performance

The story was very good but the narration was rich, thick, and delicious. I could hear the emotion. I believed the accents. I invested in the characters. When I listen to a novel I like to allow myself to get swept away with the tale. To avoid analyzing the reality or feasibility of this and that. It’s not always easy but this story did that. I’m glad I did not let this book go unnoticed.

A few problems with writing

This story is a good one and I like the premise of a war between Pakistan and India (an all too real possibility in today's political climate). However, some piggy the characterizations gave me pause. I has a hard time accepting that an Islamic terrorist would cuss like an octogenarian retired Merchant Marine, much less tell his contrary to "Shut his piehole." This suspended my believability of the character and almost turned it into a comedy to me. It seemed totally out of place. But other than that, a pretty well told story.

Congrats again on a thrilling story. Moving on to the next new story of Dewey Andreas

good story sometimes wordy

followed Dewey from later books. The author felt compelled to over develope characters. It is hard work finding the balance.

Ben Coes writes his books from the perspective of an American Patriot. They are outstanding.

Inspiring rendition of the reluctant hero

This is a well told story that explores a number of questions on international ties and commitments

The sucking in breath is very distracting. Story is very good but no need for foul language.
