Publisher's Summary

Paul Madriani was once a promising associate with the prestigious Potter, Skarpellos law firm, cofounded by his mentor, Ben Potter. But after a scandalous affair with Ben's wife, Talia, Paul left the firm to begin a brilliant career as a criminal defense attorney. Ben's impeccable reputation has made him a leading candidate for the Supreme Court, until he is found dead on the eve of the nomination, and Talia becomes the prime suspect. As the evidence against her snowballs, Talia hires her former lover to defend her against the ruthless chief prosecutor, who wants to send her to the gas chamber.

    "Compelling Evidence"

This book lives up to its title. The story line gave me the desire to listen over and over. I recommend this book to any legal mystery fan.

    "I Just Don't Care"

It REALLY did not grab me. I like court room dramas, but this one fell flat. I didn’t care about any of the people, so by extension I didn’t care about the trial.

There was no suspense during the jury’s deliberation; I won’t tell you what their verdict was, but you can guess I didn’t care either way!

The recoding quality was particularly bad. It sounded like a cassette and you could actually hear the gears turning! Far far in the distance you could hear another voice speaking… or was it a distant echo of the narrator? I am really glad this was only 3 hours… I bought it on sale for under than 10$, but because I am overall unsatisfied I feel like I wasted my money.

    "Really good story"

I really enjoyed the story. Author kept my interest throughout. Nothing was dragged out. Very well told. And, the narrator was fantastic!
