Publisher's summary
The latest military miracle to come out of the Whiplash group was designed to eliminate any possibility of human error - yet civilians die when a computer-controlled UAV drone inexplicably goes rogue while the whole world watches. Now the entire Whiplash program is under fire, as the weapon’s creator heads into the blistering heat of the conflict to discover if sabotage caused his infallible machine to fail. But there’s an enemy waiting for him, determined to unleash more chaos and terror and death - which sends pilot Turk Mako to the skies once more to prove that, in the heat of battle, a skilled ace can do what no computer can.

The first-ever inside look at the US military’s secretive Remotely Piloted Aircraft program - equal parts techno-thriller, historical account, and war memoir. Remotely piloted aircraft (RPA), commonly referred to by the media as drones, are a mysterious and headline-making tool in the military’s counterterrorism arsenal. Their story has been pieced together by technology reporters, major newspapers, and on-the-ground accounts from the Middle East, but it has never been fully told by an insider.

Story
This is the book you've been looking for: a deep, dark conspiracy that should delight those who loved the Jason Bourne movies, as well as fans of authors Vince Flynn, Tom Clancy, and Stephen Hunter. You won't believe what happens when free speech slams into the messy realities of national security. Meet Nick Woods, a former Marine Scout Sniper, who used to be one of our country's greatest operatives. Meet Allen Green, a ballsy reporter in his fifties, who's desperate to break the biggest story since Watergate.

Paul Hood, Director of the Op-Center, must answer these questions. The Op-Center, a largely autonomous new agency which takes on the government's toughest security problems, is only six months old, and has never been given a foreign crisis until now.

Another good dreamland thriller
This book bring together both new characters and old in the story ripped from today's headlines. Really makes you wonder when some of these weapons they have conceived will become a reality. Worth the listen.
