Grisly beach read

In spite of all the sex(obvious) and violence (see title) it's an undemanding way to pass the time and the characters(except for the villain) have some complexity.

Great story

Easy listening. I think the out of order chapters have been fixed as I did not feel any of the chapters were misplaced.

Very suspenseful!

This book had me wondering the whole time who is the killer could be. It was twisting and turning quite often, so it was hard to tell.

Good story but…

… it was a little too dark for me, and for that reason I did not give it the full 5 stars. That being said, I’ll try the next one in the series because I like an engaging, well-written story and I love a good series so I’ll give it another chance. And even though I identified the bad guy early on, it kept me up late last night, listening until I was able to verify that my guess was correct.

The narrator did a fine job as well. She did not seem to differentiate a lot between the voices of the various characters (except for dropping her timbre when voicing the men), but as a well-written story it was easy for me to follow and know who was speaking at all times, and that’s the important thing. So this narrator worked for me.

A very good suspense thriller

A very good suspense thriller and kept me guessing til the very end! I listened to the audio book. The narrator was great. Sometimes her gravely voice was irritating but oh well!

Would you try another book from Lisa Jackson and/or Alyssa Bresnahan?

Lisa Jackson is one of my favorite writers. I have read or listened to many of her books and will continue to. Ms. Bresnahan does an excellent job performing the stories for us and certainly is an endorsement for an audible book.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

This particular book seemed to drag on and on. I suppose I would have built up the relationship between Rick and Olivia more throughout the story. I also would have brought the crescendo of the ending up sooner. Too much sitting about scratching their heads worrying.

Which character – as performed by Alyssa Bresnahan – was your favorite?

Not one in particular. She performed the victims to perfection though.

Great ending!! The end brought great emotion and was perhaps the one time I was actually gripped.

suspenseful and keeps you wanting to read more. Looking forward to the next in the series

Lots of surprises

The book is well written and keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time you’re reading.
Characters are smart, amusing, flawed and broken. Trying to find their purpose.

Good addition to the book and series

I borrowed this from Audible Plus because I was having a hard time getting into the book until I could listen to at least the setup. The audio helped me start it and then added to my enjoyment of the story.
