Publisher's summary

A terrible blizzard, a grisly accident, a mid-air collision - and that's only the beginning...

Crippled by a high-altitude collision with another airplane, Wayfarer 880 , half the roof ripped away, flies on in the evening sky. Seated in the back, amid dead and dying passengers, pilot Donovan Nash fights decompression and oxygen deprivation to make it to the shattered cockpit. With help from a woman from his carefully concealed past, and a handful of survivors, Donovan must try to fly the heavily damaged plane with no electrical power or functioning instruments...

On the ground, Dr. Lauren McKenna waits for Donovan, her fiancée, to arrive in Chicago, only to hear firsthand of the midair collision. Faced with a hostile airline executive who secretly wants the stricken airliner to vanish into the icy waters of Lake Michigan, Lauren must convince Henry Parrish, an unlikely ally, to help save the man she loves. Lauren and Henry find themselves involved in a deadly game of deception to try and stay one step ahead of the Airline as well as heightened security forces.

As Flight 880 burns the last of its fuel, and not knowing who they can trust, Henry and Lauren rush to execute a daring midair solution to save Donovan and the others circling helplessly above.

Non-stop Suspense!

I LOVED this audiobook. This is not my genre but it caught my eye and I listened to it in one day! Didn't want to "use up" an audiobook in one day but I couldn't help it. As a young adult, I always enjoyed reading the short stories called "Drama in real life" in Readers Digest, and while this is fiction it reminded me of that memory. I am getting the prequel to this now. It didn't bother me not to have read the first one- I think it easily stands alone.

Can’t put down

Just happened on this book. Not familiar with author or narrator. Sounded different from anything I listen to. Why not.?

It did not let me down!

I made the mistake of starting the book in the late PM and actually made myself stay up to listen to it. At times I would have to take a break and take slow deep breaths to relax as my body was so tense from the drama. Then back for more.

I have to admit that while the storyline is possible, as we have heard of mid air collisions, having the right people in the right spot who are knowledge and have the ability to reach resources and agencies that can immediately make things happen is questionable. But, it works in this book .... down to the kid who happened to have a laser pointer in his pocket to save the day.

It was an extremely enjoyable book. Technical enough to assist you in understanding the severity of the situation , but not so that you feel you could operate an airplane in an emergency if needed.

And in the end, some lives were lost, some saved , some changed forever and secrets from the past reburied.

On to find another good book.

Full of clich?'s

In this book men are silent, strong and capable. Woman are weepy and sentimental and asking all the time: What's happening? Or: What's going to happen now?
The dialogues are incredibly poor. Two stars for the parts about flying.
This book is not for any female who can think for herself.
