All the things you want America to be.

"Reading" all the Tom Clancy novels that my father always recommended, and C&PD did not disappoint. I remembered the movie pretty well (in hindsight they did a HORRIBLE job casting the roles for the movie) but this was absolutely worth the time to go through the full novel.

Tom Clancy at His Best

Riveting from start to finish. One of Clancy's greatest books. Best concluding paragraph of any book I've read.

Tom Clancy at full stride, detailed and always engrossing (... and it is not my first read)

Good story

I originally read (the old fashioned way) this book decades ago when there was still a nineteen in the year. The story is still as good as I remember it. Didn’t remember the book being this long though. Then again, Clancy’s book did tend to get longer with each new book. Still, a worth while read.

Favourite Tom Clancy book so far

I absolutely loved this book. This book definitely pulled on my emotions and took me on a ride more than his previous books. That said the performance by Michael prichard is pretty flat and hard to get past.

Great listen, great story

Amazing turn of events during the story and, although a bit older, the plot and story are relevant to todays world.

not bad had some slow parts but overall okay

the narrator really didn't have to many different voices a lot of the characters sounded like the same person.

A fun listen.

Better than the movie. A lot more story lines and much more interesting. Nice work.

Another great one.

I hang on to every word. Not knowing what would happen next. How they intertwined characters and events was great. I really liked it, which I suppose shouldn't surprise me. Hope that you enjoy it too!

A Timeless Clancy Classic

Absolutely love the Clancy classics, this one being particularly heartfelt with sacrifice and heroism by characters put in harm's way through no fault of their own. The book masterfully demonstrates good and evil in the most American way possible, which is something I personally enjoy. I revisit this series every time I feel particularly disheartened by current events and am reminded that the more things change... the more they stay the same.
