Publisher's Summary

A fun cozy mystery - with ghosts!

Prudence Wallflower tours the country, making live appearances. She connects people with loved ones who have passed on. However, her reputation as a clairvoyant medium is failing, and even Prudence has begun to doubt herself. She has never seen a ghost, but receives impressions from the dead. This all changes when the ghost of a detective appears to her in bodily form and demands her help to solve a murder. Prudence finds herself out of her depth as an amateur sleuth, and to make matters worse, she is more attracted to this ghost than any man she has ever met.

What made the experience of listening to Christmas Spirit the most enjoyable?

I feel the fresh take on a well known topic is what made it most enjoyable.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked the fact that the main character is a spry middle aged woman doing her own thing and she isn't like all the other ghost seeing heroines we can read about.

What aspect of Tiffany Dougherty’s performance would you have changed?

To me it sounds like Tiffany is rushing through the story; however, I will say that particular aspect could be have been done after she recorded the story (meaning during editing). If the speed of the narration is Tiffany, I would suggest slowing down and give a little more of a pause between sentences/paragraphs. Also adding more emotion into each characters' tones, for example if someone is upset or angry use a tone that sounds angry. If someone is whispering or trying to talk softly then lower and soften the sounds.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I wouldn't say I had any extreme reactions; however, I did laugh out loud many times. Morgana Best has you cheering and caring for the heroine the entire time.

Great story with a chuckle or 2 along the way!

    Any additional comments?

Enjoyable story and quirky characters. Not your typical scary ghost story!

    Story
    "Excellent read for some chuckles!"
What did you love best about Christmas Spirit?

I love the comedy going on underneath the story line. I found myself with a smile all the way through.

What other book might you compare Christmas Spirit to and why?

I love all of this author's works and would recommend them all to anyone. For me, there is no one to compare. Morgana Best is in a very elite group.

What about Tiffany Dougherty’s performance did you like?

I thought she performed wonderfully. Her infliction of all the characters and their moods was brilliantly done. This author made a good choice picking her.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I would say the reveal of the murderer and the huge reveal of the last line of the book. (Sorry, no spoilers here).

    Any additional comments?

We'll done. Story was great! Narration was great!

    "Great listen"

Loved listening to this book. Can 't wait to read/listen to the rest of the series. Definitely want to see how the two main characters bet together. This was a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

    "Surprises Down Under!"

Totally original ideas and plot! The characters are every bit as quirky as those in other series by Australian author Morgana Best, and maybe a little bit more. The basics are given in the publisher's blurb, but without going into spoilers, there is no way to prepare you for much of the situational humor. I think that the main character is unique, and so is her story. This book is set in Australia, and it adds something wonderful to the minutiae of the tale.
I got the audio edition, and Tiffany Dougherty did a very nice job, but I would have wished for a little bit of an Aussie accent instead of sounding like an American.
