Publisher's summary

Christmas normally descends on Lake Eden, Minnesota, as gently as reindeer alighting on a rooftop - but this yuletide season the only thing coming down Hannah Swensen's chimney is a case of murder.

The holidays have arrived, and Hannah and her good pal, Lisa, have agreed to provide all the goodies for the town's annual production of A Christmas Carol. But before anyone can say "bah, humbug!" a Santa-size sackful of trouble ensues. Like the fact that Lisa's husband will be playing Mr. Claus to his ex-girlfriend Phyllis Bates' Mrs. Claus. Or that before the curtains even go up, Phyllis is found dead in the snow - wearing a costume that the real Mrs. Claus would put on the naughty list. Soon after, the suspects pile up faster than snowdrifts in a blizzard while a merry murderer remains on the loose. With clues even harder to find, it might take a visit from ghosts of Christmas past to wrap up this mystery in time for the holidays.

Done.

Repetitive, far fetched, uninspired...and, wait! Isn't Hannah supposed to be married? It seemed like it alluded to the same old platonic mike-Hannah-Norman triangle! Where was Ross? Was this entire book a flashback??!! I think I am done with this series. Good news?? Hannah finally knows how to use her cell phone!

Another hit

I love Mohammed Swenson novel. It's one gets better this one just confused me for a little bit until I remembered that she was telling the story from the Christmas before she met Ross.

Excellent!

This is another great addition to this series. It is well written and preformed. You can't help but fall in love with her characters! The storyline is 100% Minnesota and Cookie Jar filled exploits! I loved the audio option!

Does not move series forward

Any additional comments?

If you read these books because of the on-going storyline, you can skip this one. It occurs before Hannah married. Sorry I wasted a credit.

good recipes

I am disappointed that this story didn't follow the wedding book. It is the first Hannah Swensen mystery that I read by audio. I prefer the printed version.

Fun Story - Fun Recipes!

If you love cozy mysteries, you'll enjoy this one. Not only do you get a fun, clean story, you also get recipes to use throughout the year.

This was a quick, lovely read. The characters are all well developed and you get just enough information and background on each of them to try to figure out who committed the crime. I never would have guessed the character who did it!

Enjoy!

waste of my time

more time was spent listening to 7 or 8 recipes than to an actual story.
