I have read LEFT TO DIE in hard cover and could hardly wait for the sequel to come out, this book didnot dissappoint me....i love this book, the reader is great and i couldnt stop listening!
After reading Left to Die, I could hardly wait to find the sequel. This book starts off with the ending of the first book, so it picks up exactly where the other one left off. I thought the sequel was great, and the storyline hooked me from the first book. I had hoped the sequel would be narrated by someone other than Alan Nebelthau, whom I thought was terribly boring to listen to, but unfortunately he is also the narrator of this one. The third book in the series comes out in August 2011, so it will be interesting to see how the series continues.
I prefer mystery/thriller genre including YA with some non-fiction. I dislike and attempt to avoid novels that include the paranormal.
Chosen to Die is a really good story with almost continuous suspense during the last half of the book. My issue with the narration results from the author's decision to write most of the story in the third person but writing the bad guys' portions in the first person. Using the same narrator for both the third and first person's portions would have been fine for narrators who have a wide voice range which this narrator does not have.
Retired CFO, Army wife, Mom of five, Grandma of six, two sons who served in combat, love to read books that reflect my values and faith, love mysteries, historical, military stories, and books that don't waste my time . . . if it doesn't have an ending that was worth the wait, I'm not a happy camper.
Wow! This one starts out with chilling (literally and figuratively), calculating menace and continues on from there. Keeps you guessing who the murderer is . . . as another woman is hung in the cold forest to die . . . couldn't stop listening . . .
Myst/thrillers and ✨fun fantasies✨are my favorites but always open for a good story.
This was a fairly good read, however, for me no where close to the exiting, suspenseful story of the first book. The first in the series was more about a woman rescued by a stranger in the woods, (who may or may not be a serial killer), and their relationship, and less about the two woman investigators. A bit too predictable for me and I could not get attached to the main character. I was more attached to the characters in the first book that were not brought forward in the story.
The loose ends were tied up in an exciting but abrupt ending. I am hoping that the next book in the series is better and less predictable.
Great storyline and ending! I definitely recommend it! Lisa Jackson knows how to keep you guessing until the vey end!
