The Justice Killer

There’s a twisted serial killer stalking the streets of New York City, dealing his own perverse version of justice. He kills swiftly and silently, leaving his calling card - a red "J" - on the bodies of his prey. His victims have one thing in common: They’ve all been jurors in the city’s most infamous cases - cases in which the killer was found "not guilty". Overnight, the Justice Killer has the city in a stranglehold. And there’s only one man who has a shot at finding him....

Homicide detective Artemis Beam made his reputation hunting down serial killers. After getting shot by an armed robber - and stepping on the wrong toes in the NYPD - he’s been retired. The city needs him now, and finding the killer is his chance to get back into the life he loves. As the body count climbs and the city’s legal system fails, the Justice Killer thinks he’s outsmarted the cops. But Beam isn’t officially a cop anymore...and he doesn’t have to play by the rules....

Good Read

The reading as usual by Scott Brick is very good and the story line moves steady but fast, and the strongest vote i can give any mystery, thriller is of course that you wont guess who the killer is til the last pages, if someone says they did know they are flexing their ego's at best.

Disappointed

Felt like I was reading a Frank Quinn novel where the names were just changed.

Chilling both night and day

Lutz continues to weave horror into the serial
killer genre.Quinn and company stalk the stalker
as cat & mouse turns sicker while creative killing
rolls off the tounge of Scott Brick as if he enjoys the kill as well as the villian.I hope more Quinn is on the way , I'LL keep my ears
peeled.

Serial Killers

I have one more novel to listen to by Lutz and then I won't have anymore serial killer novels. Lutz manages to write about the same subject in the same city every single time and every single time I just don't want to stop listening. I have no idea how he manages it but he does and every one is a very good listen. Scott Brick is an excellent reader.

Enjoyed It

I enjoyed this one on a long trip. It was interesting, but not too fast to keep up with while driving. I'm definitely starting to enjoy this author more and more with each book of his I read/listen to.

Do Not Recommend It

After listening to the author's audiobook, "Night Spider," I liked it enough to gamble on this. I am also a fan of the narrator, Scott Brick. This audiobook just does not deliver. It goes into the lives of too many characters, with story lines that after 10 hours of listening, have not yet converged. Although the idea of a "Justice Killer" righting wrongs by murdering those who set other killers free was intriguing, the author fails to create any plausibile scenarios.

I simply did not care what happened to any character and only finished listening to it in order to find out who dunnit. Not only will I avoid John Lutz's books in the future, it will be a long time until I get another one narrated by Scott Brick.
