This is a great series. I love these stories and I hope that more of the series is available with Audible.
I love the pace of these stories. The characters get developed well in a short space of time. Good listen while I workout! Keep them coming.
great short mysteries!! good narrator, all in the series are worth the time. surprise endings. am ready for ano.
Short and great little mysteries when one doesn't have the time for a long book . Great stories, wonderful performance . I just love them between jobs and sports.
Great series. Can't wait for the English versions of the continuation. Characters are well developed
Follow different genres in my selection of books. Like mysteries of all kinds. Absolutely love audio books.
Another good series. Recommend this book.
Narrator Neil Dudgeon has a clear and understandable voice.
I love this series! The characters are very well developed and believable. I wish there were MORE stories! I am excited to listen to Neil Dudgeon's charismatic voice and the story he unfolds. BRAVO!
I haven't read the print version
Cherringham 1 - 3, 4 - 6, and 7 - 9. This is a fantastic series and the narration is very well done, top notch.
Over time I have seen Mr. Dudgeon act in a few things, The most recent was Midsomer Murder. I have enjoyed his performance in everything that I've seen him in including his role as chauffeur to Diana Rigg in the Mrs. Bradley Mystery series.
If I could have I would have listened non-stop but at the same time I like to listen a piece at a time so as to savor it longer.
Looking forward to the next in the series.
"I love these stories"
this is my 3rd book downloaded. I am so excited enjoying the stories the relationship between Jack and Sarah. so refreshing to have this professional friendship portrayed to well. Sarah's family dynamic is spot on too. keep em coming. I live in the Cotswolds too so enjoy the scenery and village references.
"More brilliant tales"
Not so cosy
All three stories are very well written. Real who dunnits that leave you guessing almost to the very end. I really enjoy the two different characters. I have perchased all the English translations of the series and they are all equally good in my opinion. Not really a "cosy" series although there are no descriptions of violence, sex or very strong language. Which I don't think are necessary if you are a good writer. It's nice to have books that one can listen to with any family member including 10 year old grandchildren.
Definitely Jack. Some American accents can be dyer when spoken by English actors but, Mr Dudgeon performs it brilliantly and believabley. In fact he does all of the narration and different voices very well.
It's three different stories. But I think I was most moved by the last chapter of the last one. I can't say why because that would be a spoiler.
I really hope that the rest of the series are translated into English very soon. This is my favourite set of books by far.
these two guys are prefect crime/mystery partners. this set of books so far has been the best ive found from the modern day writers.
im waiting for the whole set to come to audible in English.
"l love these book's"
I have come to adore these little books.. only one of the short stories (in a previous volume) I haven't liked. They are light well written and brilliantly read and are perfect for listening to when you might not be able to give your full attention to them. Have already ore ordered the next set.
"Cosy Crime series"
This has been a really excellent series, each story is easy to listen to the narration is great. I'm just frustrated now as I've got to wait until the 28th of February 2017 for the next series too come out but at least it's pre- ordered!!!
"Village life, for better or worse"
Three short stories, the same format as the others in this series, which, if you like them, make excellent listening as it is so easy to get through a complete story in a stop start day.
Good stories that show, despite the drawbacks, life in a small community can be good, not perhaps idyllic, but with pretty surroundings, good friends and a decent pub and tea shop there is alot to be thankful for. Throw in the odd summer fete and regatta then invite the rest of the world and their dastardly ways into this near Eden.
An excellent narrator gives life and colour to these stories.
"Love these books"
I really enjoy these books. The stories are interesting and complicated with just enough of an edge to hold your interest while still being cosy. And I love Neil Dudgeon's narration.
"As re-listenable as Heartbeat is re-viewable"
Three more great stories
Neil Gudgeon is the main reason that I started listening to the series. For me he is a fine actor and narrator
The whole series is superb. An ex American cop working with a single Mum sorting out, albeit tongue in cheek, crimes in a small English village. Such a shame that there are only twelve episodes.
"For all Midsomer Murders Lovers!!!"
If you love Midsomer Murders, this is for you. I love detective stories Stuart MacBride, James May, Graham Masterson...the lot. But I find too many of them in a row start to become depressing. This is a more gentle series. All the good detective work without the nightmares. The fact that Neil Dudgeon narrates the series makes it pure perfection!
"Superb easy listening series"
The stories are easy to follow, and with the superb Neil Dudgeon narrating, it's almost like Midsomer Murders. A great series of books, can't wait for the next ones!
