Six years ago Alex Town went missing. One year ago his body was found. One month ago, his mother saw him on the street. One week ago, David Raker agreed to look for him. Now he wishes he hadn’t. Missing persons investigator David Raker doesn’t want the work: it’s clearly a sad but hopeless case of mistaken identity but haunted by a loss of his own, Raker reluctantly agrees.
Big mistake. For as he digs deeper, he discovers that Alex’s life was not the innocent one his mother believed....

"This impressive debut delivers on pace and stomach-churning brutality." (Guardian)
I probably will, because I'm a bit of a Peter Wickham fan, and bought the book solely because he narrated it, with little regard to the author, who I'd never heard of before. I enjoyed the book, and will read others by Tim Weaver.
The book premise is a bit kooky, but in an interesting way, and though the ending wasn't shocking, it was very satisfying.
Pacing, linguistic style; he makes the character sound like a very likeable guy.
Worth the credit!
"another great book!"
This is another great book featuring David Raker who searches for missing people. You just do not imagine this going where it does or as far and the trauma he goes through reverberates through later books. A real shocking twist at the end that I did not see coming!!!! Highly recommend I've loved all Tim Weavers books.
"What complete and utter tosh!"
The plot was absolutely ridiculous. So what would have made it a 4 or 5 star listen for me? Not having purchased it in the first place and gotten something else.
I had just finished "Fall from Grace" a superb thriller, expertly read so I couldn't wait to get my mitts on another Tim Weaver book. The narrator thought he was James Bond which did not help. There was no story just a ridiculous overdone "thriller" with too much blood and gore and absolutely no substance to it.
I would have spared anyone this task.
If you like lots and lots of blood, gratuitous violence, poor story line, and have 15 hours of your life to spare listening to it, then this is for you. If you want to listen to a really good thriller by this author try "Fall from Grace". I will be returning this book.
